are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

My wife and oldest son got me 2 more sets of Dungeons and Dragons dice and a handmade card that my oldest absolutely allowed no input from anyone else on. I was flattered.

Feel like this might be the best place to ask this. My son is turning 6 and wants to go to a concert with me, still trying to decide if it’s time or not, but I’m wondering if anyone has any recs on either bringing kids to concerts / good ear protection?

I'm mad at this thread for not properly preparing me for the chaos of having a 2.5 year old and a 6 month old at the same time

We lucked out it wasn’t too bad. Now having a 6 yo and a 3yo is a different story. Utter chaos at all times

Went through this exact thing with my son a few years ago. Kind of scary at the time, but we often bring it up as a positive memory now. It was fun being out in the middle of the night, just us two.

Had the croup ER trips like 5 times between the two kids. Never gets easier, glad she’s ok!

one of my two had 3 episodes and they gave us a medicine that’s a preventative to give him when he starts showing signs of a cold. So far it’s worked at preventing it.

    thanks yall

she still has a bit of a cough but much less worse. her breathing was the main issue last night but it seems like that has totally gone away. just hoping it doesn’t return during nap/bedtime

Croup is always worse at night. Did they give you a breathing machine with medicine?

My kids had to do that so many times when they were younger.

they didn’t. she was fine at nap time. we’ll see how tonight goes but i’m hopeful that the steroid just worked for her and we can treat whatever tonight as we would a normal cold

she hasn’t had any stridor since about 9 this morning

The steroid typically does the trick in our experience.

I’d ask about that medicine mentioned above that I and another post. I’m not home now but can look up what it’s called if you’d like.

It’s budesonide. You put it in a nebulizer and they breathe it in.

Our plan was to have a 2-3 year old and a newborn but fertility issues ruined that, so now we have a 6 year old and 6 month old and it’s interesting. On one hand I’m extremely thankful for having one kid that is relatively “self sufficient” since the baby needs to be taken care of, but on the other hand i keep thinking about how they’ll be requiring two different “dad modes” and interests and etc for the next like 14 years lol.

Hey all, never had an infant at the beach before, and it’s particularly hot the next couple days (90, heat index over 100)…is there any safe way to have our 6 month old at the beach today? Our idea was bringing his tub down to the beach and filling it with ocean water, and getting one of those mist fan thingies to spray him periodically. Would that work?

I figure something has to work because this is the weather in Florida like every day for 4 months and babies presumably go outside there without dying
