I wanted to watch Gravity Falls with my 6yo but we are pretty strict on bad words and “potty” talk cuz he will repeat all of that at the literally worst time and place. Show unfortunately had some of that
Our first was like that and I was expecting the worst with #2, but so far, not too bad through 3 months. He had covid with the rest of us that threw some routines off, but he goes 5-6 hours at night, which 6 I think is like the max we're supposed to let him go right now before you're supposed to feed him lol, but I think pretty soon we're gonna get the "yeah just let him sleep until he wakes up" nod from the doc. My wife has been home with him but she says normally after that first morning feeding he sleeps for a few more hours. IDk..it's been weird and I feel like we haven't established a true sleep sechedule for him yet. But point of the story is while he sleeps pretty decently at night, he's not as good of a daytime napper as our first one, so less time to get stuff done unfortunately. But we'll take the night sleeping. Biggest obsticle to sleep so far is gas/pooping. He seems to be going 2-3 days between poops and by the 3rd day he's uncomfortable and gassy and it wakes him up when he is napping.
We did cloth diapers for our twins for the first 8 months or so. Once more of their diet comes from food and not just breastmilk/formula it is a lot more to keep up with. We used a service to pick up the inserts and drop off fresh ones and the cost was about the same as all the diapers we would have bought, plus the environmental impact is lessened using the service because they can be much more efficient.
following up on this: first day back was supposed to be Monday. I got in my car and drove down the street. My wife calls in a panic, saying our daughter projectile vomited is struggling to breathe. I turn back around and we call 911. They help us get some fluid out of her nose and throat that was making her struggle with breathing. But they suggest we go to the ER to get fully checked out. Turns out she had something called intestinal malrotation in which her intestines were not aligned properly. It was causing her to throw up stomach bile and could eventually become life threatening if they become more twisted. We had surgery later that day. We’re home now and thankfully she is recovering well and okay. But holy shit was that scary. sorry for the long post. It’s been a long ass week .
thank you: appreciate it. Feeling very fortunate I’m able to have her sleeping on me this morning at home
One of my son’s closest friends is a little girl. Her mom loves to make comments like “before you know it they’ll be married with kids of their own!” Holy shit why does it bother me so much. Just let them be friends without being weird about it. This is the same family who I discovered have the T***p flag so makes sense why they can’t comprehend things like that. End rant.
just counter with 'maybe they'll become mortal enemies, you never know' and then she'll never say it again
I was so glad to move on from mickeys clubhouse haha although the bluey obsession got REAL for a long time there though
Current obsession is Hercules, but Spidey and his Amazing Friends had a stranglehold on them for a while. Showed them Mulan last night and they really liked it.
Same. I’m so glad we’re finally in a spot where the two of us can watch and enjoy the same things. My kid is obsessed with Adventure Time. I’m not complaining one bit.
My son will ask for the most random identifier of a video and get frustrated that I don't know what he's talking about. This lasts for hours.
My almost 3 year old is obsessed with music videos (tswift mostly haha) and monster trucks being thrown into containers filled with paint. Anything else is trash.
One time we just watched a compilation of planes landing for 20 minutes. I'm 100 percent positive that's not what he meant but it worked.
