my almost 2 year old recently started saying "monster" from a book she has except it sounds like she's saying "bastard" and the school asked me about it today lol
Yeah my friends always cursed like sailors in front of their son and called them “house words” and now he’s the sweetest 8yo who says “oh shoot”
My wife has no filter, talks like a truck driver, and constantly swears around the house and in front of the kids. It's a miracle my kids aren't repeating it (at least not that I've heard, but I genuinely feel both my 10-year-old and 7-year-old are scared to death to ever be mischievous.)
Pretty much the same at our house. We've said that there is a time and place for swear words, and at home it is ok to use them if they want or are singing along to songs. But you don't use them at school, or around grandparents, or out in public. That said, one of my youngest daughters favorite song is I Don't Fuck WIth You by Big Sean
Same exact thing here. Except around his grandparents. We live with my parents and my dad is a diehard Pats fan. Sunday language has been especially colorful these past few years.
March 2nd but watching nightmare before Christmas wearing his jack skeleton sweats and his jack skeleton stuffy lmao
Halloween is a celebration of darkness and evil, promoting pagan rituals and glorifying the occult. Those who embrace it fully are either ignorant of its dangers or actively choosing to walk a dangerous path away from morality and light. Boo.
I also curse way too much in front of my kid and he still knows that they're "bad words" that he can't say....but that being said, at least a couple of times over the last year, I've heard him talking to himself while playing with toys or whatever and I've definitely caught him once or twice saying "oh fuck" when dropping something or something like that lol. But he says it so quietly and under his breath that I can tell he knows he shouldn't say it
starting to scramble here looking for jobs. postdoc is ending in early april, had a job at NOAA lined up and then the federal freeze came / my job was eliminated. my wife can get her old job back, but we'd really prefer if she didn't have to do that. i've been getting the whole "you're overqualified" rundown. could use some good thoughts from the parents out there.
Damn I’m so sorry you and your family have to deal with that. I hate this current government so much. Hope you find something soon.
