Milo took a bit to adjust to that but then went from taking 2 one-hour naps to 1 2-3 hour nap which has been clutch.
Felix pretty much slept through the night every single night since his third day alive, other than when we would set alarms to wake him up and feed him. Currently two weeks into his four month sleep regression and this mf is up every single hour. Feel like he was running a four month long con of good sleep just so he could pull the rug out from under us that much harder
I remember the regressions not being that much worse but only because she slept so bad regularly anyway until she was 4.
the nanny share family is going to drive me up the fucking wall lol we had gotten both babies down to one nap a day at the same time and the other kid was actually sleeping until 7 in the morning most days too, until this weekend i guess. i’m sure they did something to fuck it up but apparently he started waking up at 5am again so they decided, without telling anyone in the group text, to move him back to two naps a day over the weekend and on a schedule completely different than holly’s and just expect us to adjust. the nanny was totally frustrated, and rightfully so, since they had signed both kids up for classes that would now conflict with the second nap. after the dad left our house both my wife and the nanny just instantly started tearing his ass apart. god they suck. rant over lol
they’re saying it’s bc he’s been teething, because his teeth are idiots and haven’t broken through after a month already. him and holly are the same age and she has … ten more teeth? just come through dummies! also teething sucks but it isn’t a reason to force a sleep regression just bc you refused to sleep train or hear any crying of any kind to begin with
it is much cheaper and i like our nanny a lot so im fine with it. and honestly the mom is fine. the dad is just a dumb geek.
I just have so little patience for people doing dumb shit that fucks with Milo's schedule. It drives me insane lol.
Does anyone have any bed recommendations for a 2 year old that can also support the weight of an adult? My kid won't fall asleep without us and he's getting too big to fall asleep while rocking him in the chair. Yes, we're still doing that.
it's gotten worse, and today the nanny texted my wife saying "I don't think ___ (other kid) should be in a nanny share and (his parents) certainly should not be" our contract is up in three weeks lol I fear she's gonna fire them and then ??? we have to give her a raise or she brings another family's kid in???
I've mentioned this many times in here, but we switched both of my kids to twin-sized beds when they were 2. My son at 2 years, 4 months and my daughter even sooner than that. It changed the way they slept forever (in the best way possible). Prior to that, my kids never slept through the night ever. Once they got a real bed, they were obsessed with them.
keeping our nearly-2-year old in the crib as long as he wants, he sleeps great so I don't want that to change haha
moving to the toddler bed messed our 2 year olds sleeping up horrrrriiiibbbbblllyyyyyyyy, stay in a crib as long as you can haha
Yeah, if your child is already sleeping fine/through the night, absolutely no reason to mess with it. For us, quite literally neither one of my children never slept through the night and always ended up in bed with us. We were out of options and switching to a real bed was the game-changer we needed.
Yeah, totally a kid by kid scenario. We did sleep training at like, 7ish months, and since we did that he's slept through the night every single night for over a year. Gonna let it roll as long as humanly possible with the current setup haha
My family’s dynamic is a little weird because I’m the youngest kid (34) and I’m the only parent. So a lot of our traditions and holidays were spent with my parents kind of centered at the middle. We haven’t really navigated how days like Mother’s and Father’s day should look in this new era, but they seem pretty hellbent on remaining the center of those days too, and it’s very weird. You wouldn’t even know I’m a dad based on their behavior. Looking forward to once again making the 1.5 hour trek to their house to celebrate them lol. Anyway, happy Father’s Day to the dads in here, sorry for the mini-vent lol
