Give him whiskey like the old days

 

We've given him a little bit of tylenol for now but yeah we're prob gonna have to stick some of the teething rings in the freezer

 

My kid's first molar came in and I can't believe how fucking big it is, I swear it's bigger than mine haha

 

I feel like my sons molars were normal but my daughter got her first recently and they are also just huge.

 

Look at this fucking thing!!!

 

So sick

 

Thats big but its making me feel worse about my daughters situation.

 

uh oh!!! I am sure it's totally fine hah.

That being said, we're gonna try and get a dentist appt on the books soon, I guess around 1 year old is a good aim for first appt

 

Oh god I haven’t even thought about the drawing on the walls stage. That’s gonna drive me nuts lol

 

i posted about this in a different thread but, having finally found childcare, it’s staggering how many anti-vax people are in the nannying community

 

Yeah we found one daycare that requires vaccines in their employees and kids down here. Can’t imagine having the disconnect of “I want to make sure your kids are safe here, but also won’t prevent them from getting sick as much as possible”

 

I was a nanny once upon a time lmao

 

Jameson is getting close to walking and poked his head over the couch. Finn then realized nowhere is safe now.

Lol exactly. Our other cat Zwitter is very excited about it. Finn is from the streets and is much more jumpy

 

had our first little injury today, at 5 months. “nursemaid’s elbow” basically was trying to put her in a new outfit and heard a pop, her arm went immediately limp and stayed that way until the doctor basically just rotated it a few times and then she was instantly fine lol

 

I think our first injury was my oldest when he was 1 grabbed a super heavy stocking “weight” on a mantle at a relatives house. Hitting him very hard on the head

 

Not an injury but we did have an urgent care visit this week, my wife and kid both got covid and once his fever broke, he got a pretty quick and fast rash everywhere so we went in. Turns out it was totally fine, but definitely a lot of craziness for a bit

 

At what age does taking your children out in the world not require three recovery days following?

 

Yeah doing anything outside in this heat is awful lol. We got a splash pad for the yard just so he can do something water-oriented without having to go anywhere.

I’m gonna guess maybe like 7/8? They can do most stuff by then and can talk to you about what’s wrong somewhat

 

Basically if his routine is interrupted at all, he hates it. He LOATHES babysitters/grandparent time lol

 

Blown away we have a kindergartner and fifth grader now... man, time really does fly by. Cherish these moments, ya'll.
