Left our first for the first time at 8 months, leaving our second this weekend and he’s 5 months.

We’ve got a wedding coming up for two nights. Milo will be 10.5 months and we’ll be 45 mins away. His mom is understandably nervous though.

The 19 mo is killing us with sleep regression. Long bedtime. Random long wake-up's and mix that with the rage of still having 4 canines to pop :verysad:

My 4 year old got 4 vaccines yesterday in 2 shots. Now she’s pretty sick, running hot and threw up last night. Is this a somewhat normal reaction, or maybe she caught a stomach bug at the same time?

I know some shots can cause a fever but if I were you I'd call the pediatrician and just let them know and see what they have to say.

I tear up at literally any movie scene that deals with "parent trying to parent their kid through their imminent death" ever since we had our kid. Most recent examples were the other day Greenland was on HBO and I caught the end of it, and just now I'm flipping through channels and Titanic is on and I caught the scene where they make it to the stern of the boat and Rose looks over at a mom holding her toddler/little boy saying "it'll all be over soon."

Literally can't handle those scenes any more. Before I had a kid it was just a "aww that's sad" thing lol

Yesterday my daughter and I were watching an episode of Muppet Babies that was about death and it got me pretty good.

Do any of your kids have the Gizmo watch? We just bought one for our son last night. Still trying to get the hang of this.

Definitely am more “soft” since becoming parent for lack of a better word. Stuff that used to not bother me really gets me weepy now.

Same. Hard for me to watch Gladiator now, and I can feel Théoden's pain when he buries his son.

Anybody got any bad parenting stories? The other day, my 3 year old asked for apple juice, so I gave him some and he took one sip and said he didnt like it and wanted milk instead. I was a bit frustrated and told him he had to drink that if he wanted anything so he took a couple more sips, then stopped.

The next day I went to get something out of the fridge and noticed we had a second container of apple juice. Wondering why, I picked up the one I had given to my son and realized that it was not apple juice, it was chicken broth. Now anytime I give him juice, he asks me if its chicken broth before drinking.

My 2 year old daughter asks me to play “train to Mars” when she wakes up in the morning, which is code for Stars by Hum. I feel like I have her on the right track already.

If it gets real bad and your doctor okays it, infant Motrin can be a lifesaver. Otherwise we had a lot of success with teething rings that you can freeze. Good luck!
