Hope it all goes good, man. I'm not sure how I lucked out without a kid (as much of a blessing as they can be) with my first marriage. I know if I did have one with her though it'd be a mess I wouldn't want anyone to have.

My son, who is 22 months, has learned like 10 new words in the past week. It's so amazing to see it happen so quickly.

That's how old my son is!

It's weird to see them grow up and start copying you, right?

And it doesn't help that he's basically my mini-me.

So I'm super excited because our little guy just started to intentionally grab things, giggle, and try to imitate sounds all this week!!! It's nuts! And today he was sitting in my lap facing me and was moving his hands around and it landed on my jaw and he just sort of stopped and looked me in the eyes and smiled. I almost cried.

Also (unrelated) did anyone/anyone's partners experience back labor at all?

My wife has back pain constantly but I don't think it's related to the pregnancy/labor considering this has gone on for 10+ years since HS.

That's awesome about the little dude!
How old is your little one again?

:/ Sorry to hear that. I was wondering because I experienced back labor and I think my back is still out of sorts from it.

He's almost 14 weeks! He sounds so little but I can't believe he's that old already!

Ah 3 1/2 months, that's when things definitely started to get much better for us.

I remember when my little one first laughed, I was able to make him laugh REALLY hard and that was the BEST feeling!

Ours will be 8 months on 22nd and he hasn't really started imitating noises or what not yet at all. His motor skills are top notch and from what we've seen, advanced for his age but his speech isn't quite there for where he's "supposed" to be haha. He still loves his farting sounds(he's definitely a boy! lol) and high pitched happy screams though.

Yeah it seems like things are getting easier. I remember the first weeks when everyone was saying it gets better and I was just thinking yeah okay, but now it actually is! Haha

My husband was the first one to make him laugh, and I was so excited and happy because he is at work during the day and feels bummed that he doesn't get to see him during the day. The high pitched happy squeals make me laugh so hard because Shayley talks with his eyebrows, and they go up so high when he gets excited. It's so funny!

All babies are so different in terms of development that sometimes I think the "where they are supposed to be" lists and whatnot cause more grief because then I just think why isn't he there yet? I feel like they are generally good guidelines, but right now I'm okay if he is ahead on some things and hasn't quite reached some others.

So I discovered earlier this week that the little one is getting his next tooth in(already has the 2 bottom). Got a text from the wife, apparently it's not 1 it's 4! All 4 across the top.

I need to get a few better pictures of my little dudes room, because I love it. He has a few Wild Things prints above his crib (my wife hand made his sheets!), and a cool handmade feather-thing one of her co-workers made

    Imgur Image

On the other side he has these porcelain-like animal heads hanging, like the ones below (that's not his room, just an example of the heads we have). Plus a awesome bookshelf and dresser that match his crib.

Those are awesome... love the colors/paint scheme you have going on there. That crib is rad (things I never thought I'd say for $500, Alex)

Went to our first grader's open house event in his school. He has an 'about me' paper filled out, hanging in his classroom. He had to write something that makes him happy, and something that makes him sad. He writes "I'm sad when I get hit everyday". He means when the kids play dodgeball at the bus stop every morning, but of course nobody knows that and I look like a horrible abusive parent.

My wife works as a head teacher at a daycare and she gets some pretty amazing questionnaires filled out by the kids. One of them from last year on father's day:

What is your father's favorite thing?: His computer
What does your father like to do?: Play on his computer
What does your father like to do with you?: Let me watch him play on his computer
What is your father's favorite thing to say?: Don't touch my computer

There was another kid whose parents had just had a new baby. When asked what his father liked to do, the kid replied "Play with Braden and not with me".

Haha that's great. One time mine had an assignment, say something that makes you unique. You have all kinds of typical answers from the other kids. I like zebras, my favorite color is purple... Mine writes "my name is Landon. I punched a girl in the face." Wtf. Like seriously. What the fuck. I don't even know.

Yeah man, the crib is from a Restoration Hardware collection, the bookshelf and dresser we have to go with it is just as rad. They have a worn look to them, but my favorite part is the squares around the top, not sure why I'm so fascinated by those.
