Proud Dad moment. I took my 4 yo daughter for her annual check-up and vaccines so she could start pre-k next week. She got 4 shots in a row and "ouched" and giggled through each one of them. What an animal!
My daughter started kindergarten today so we officially are done with day-time child care/babysitters, which is a reallllll nice feeling. This is the first time in 8 years (since my son was born) that we haven't had to worry about this.
I cannot fathom having more than 1 child in daycare at any given time. My current monthly daycare cost is more than my mortgage.
Cost of childcare is the same reason my wife doesn't work. I mean I also have too many kids but that's besides the point
We’re very fortunate to have my mother in law who’s retired watch our sons currently while we’re at work.
I do pay her for her time but I know from friends and family that normal daycare/babysitting is crazy expensive and nowhere near what I pay. Definitely more than my mortgage
Okay both kids are feeling much better after getting covid. It’s like it hit them hard for 24 hours then subsided rather quickly
ugh wife tested positive last night and our daughter did today. She was miserable all night and would not sleep in her crib. She's normally the happiest baby ever and we couldn't even get a smile out of her this morning. She seems to already be doing better but man she just had a cold a few weeks ago
aaaand just like that the baby slept 11 hours through the night after several days of restless sleep. Hell I even got about 7 straight hours of uninterrupted sleep which is unprecedented for me even before the kid thanks to diabetes/peeing multiple times per night
When both my kids got COVID in April, they were miserable for like 1 day and then went back to normal. Hopefully you're out of the woods on it. It sucks for sure.
Oh that's good to hear and also bad to hear. Sorry! When I got it, I had 0 symptoms and just completely 100% lost my voice a day. Came back next day and continued as normal. Super weird.
Got the 5 of us that could be vaccinated tonight. 1st doses for both my daughters, 3rd-4th doses for my son, wife and myself. Just gotta wait for my youngest to get old enough now
How did it go? We just started this past month with our 8 month old and she's having a hard time reaching and picking up stuff. She does ok with those teether crackers but when it comes to like quinoa or something like that she doesn't seem interested.
