Oh yeah, goes to bed at 8, wakes up anywhere between 545-630 (I wake up at 630 every morning). We're quite lucky, he's been that way for about a month now. He's 6 months now and we just started giving him food (sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, beets, etc.), and man is his poop disgusting.
Congrats! Isn't that a glorious feeling?!! You actually feel like you somewhat have a life again, even if it is while the sun isn't out? haha Ours goes to bed at 9, wakes up between 8:30-9:00, he's usually up before that but he stays in his crib and either falls in and out of sleep or just plays with his blanket and pacifier. I don't remember his poop being that bad honestly, but he's been eating food for a few months now, we're starting to give him some of ours sometimes as well and he LOVES that! Ours just started crawling so that's been fun! Yours have teeth at all yet? My little one has 2 and they are fucking adorable!
Oh, it's fantastic. Once we put him down at 8, I play my video games for an our while the wife cooks food for the week or quilts, or whatever she's in the mood for. Around 930 we get in bed, put on a TV show and just decompress. It's great. He's not crawling, and no teeth. He sits up all the time though which is fun. We took him in for his 6 month appointment, his head size was in the 94%!! Haha we were blown away.
HAHA Nice! Ours has always been 95-99+% for height and weight but like 70's for his head lol. Dude weighed 22 lbs at 6 months. Probably pushing 25 now, he officially surpassed our cats!
Nice, ours was just shy of 18 lbs at 6 months. Also, now that he's eating food, he can use this awesome bib my sister made him.
Not really, my girlfriend had an app while she was pregnant called "The Bump" that told you how big the baby was each week compared to a fruit or something which was really fun for us haha, might be good for @yourfaveweapon. It also gave you useful info each week. As for after she was born, we kinda just Googled stuff as questions came up, or asked the pediatrician. omg my daughter is like 21 lbs at 13 months, such a peanut haha
Oh yes, I have a fruit comparison app with info as well lol. It IS pretty fun. This week: baby is the size of a MANGO! about 6 in, 8.5 oz.
The Bump is great because it has daily activities, like "don't forget to do this...", or "make sure this week you buy this." A lot of stuff you wouldn't think about and kind of makes it a slow and steady process instead of overwhelming yourself a month before the baby comes.
I actually calculated it before we knew their biological sexes. We were almost positive they were fraternal since we did IVF and transferred 2 embryos, and about 51% of babies are male so there was a 26% chance of 2 boys, 24% chance of 2 girls, and 50% chance of one of each. By the way, I was happy to see some infertility talk in here. It doesn't get talked about much, but it affects a lot of people. It took us 3 years (and 5 total pregnancies) before we finally had these 2.
Yeah my wife used that as well. Haha yeah he started out big, 9 lbs 8 oz. by the time he went in for his first month appt the dr said she had never seen a child surpass their birthweight by that time haha. I guess I'm gonna have a big kid!
For anyone who has an infant or has one on the way, I highly recommend Baby 411: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1889392510/?tag=absolutepunk-20 Our pediatrician recommended it and it's great. You can either read it straight through like a book, or spot read as issues and questions come up.
my member isn't great, but I feel like it helped. Though she was pretty good at escaping swaddling yes, as long as I can find it I'll mail it this weekend! Just PM me your address
I know he's only 3 and I can't just take what my child says to heart but today is the first time he's actually been mad at me and told me he hates me and I feel like garbage
Aw, the feels. I'm sorry man. That's probably hard. I think back though and I probably said some pretty craptastic things to my mom and obviously it was all meaningless. He's just upset and doesn't know the best way to say it!
It really sucked, and I definitely understand what you're saying hahaha. Like, as our "conflict" was happening, I felt just like my dad and I saw so much of myself in him. My dad, when he was wanting me to do something I was refusing to do or when he was lecturing me/angry at me, would just stare me down, waiting for me to say or do something, and I would always just look around my room or the house, checking to see if he was still staring before breaking eye contact again. And Gavin was doing that exact thing hahaha, and I was just like "Dammit, I'm my father."
Lol I can just imagine that is going to be one of the most frustrating parts of parenting! I guess all you can do is try the way your dad did. It's all any of us can do! I hope you start feeling better about it soon.
Awesome thread, wish I would have seen it before now. My daughter went to tour kindergarten on Wednesday and it's had me all messed up this week.
I feel you on that. We did that whole thing a couple months back. Can't believe it's already time for kindergarten.
My son is almost two and it kinda freaks me out how old he is, like especially when he says real words pretty clearly. My daughter will be born in a couple months. I want to buy a Taking Back Sunday toddler shirt for my boy and a onesie for my girl. I was stoked when they started selling them in their online store, but never got around to making the purchase.
