My son will only cuddle mommy on the couch before bed. When I tried to get him to cuddle with me tonight, and asked him why he couldn't cuddle with me on the couch, he said "you too fat to cuddle!"
long time listener, first time poster. nice to see so many parents in here and commiserate together. our 13 month old got covid this week, major bummer. she’s had a brutal fever and was refusing to eat and drink and we ended up taking her to the ER last night. thankfully she’s been much better today and drinking more but still barely eating. hoping we’re on the upswing. wife and I are both vaccinated so just mild symptoms for us but sucks to watch your kid go through that. the icing on the cake is we got it from my anti-vax in-laws, so that’s cool. I realize at this point we could have gotten it from anyone, vaxxed or not, but it doesn’t stop me from raging in my brain at them all day. anyways, send prayers/good vibes if that’s your thing. just nice to have a place to post about it.
Thank you. she’s doing a bit better today, definitely in better spirits and fever is almost gone, just bad cough/congestion.
Ugh sorry to hear this. I hope she continues to improve, everyone just assuming kids will be fine if they contract covid has been so frustrating.
Sooooo, we’re supposed to take our kids on a plane for the first time ever tomorrow morning and of course my 7-year-old son got sick yesterday. He threw up 9x in the span of 7 hours. We were really hoping it was just food poisoning (he threw away his hot dog earlier in the day because he said it tasted weird and gross) because other than throwing up, he had no other symptoms. He woke up fine today but as the day went on he kept saying he was cold so we checked his temp and it was 102.4. UGH!
Sorry to hear that - Our kid just had that too, lasted like 36 hours. I think it’s a bug going around.
Sucks. Hopefully the fever breaks today/tonight and he’s feeling good to go for your trip tomorrow. I hope it all goes well!
Thanks y’all. He’s actually acting completely fine right now and we’re just rotating Tylenol and Motrin. My wife took him to urgent care to have him tested for strep (negative) and we tested him for Covid (negative).
Where you guys going? We're going to San Antonio on Wednesday and I am not looking forward to doing it with a two month old lol. Hope your son gets better!
Happy to hear the testing results were good! Sick kids are the worst. Sucks to not be able to do much to help and just ride it out.
Tampa (from Cleveland). We drove down to Hilton Head (14 hour drive) last summer and of course they both got strep during our vacation. SMH.
That’s been going around here (I’m in the Cleveland area as well), my daughter had it for 3 days and it was a nightmare, I had it for 24 hours two days after her so watch out.
@Fucking Dustin - What's the process like on welcoming new members to this thread? Do I get a jacket or a cool trinket or something?
Switching my 2.5 year old’s daycare starting next Monday. Really nervous about it, she’s very shy and it seems like she has just started to love her current teachers.
