I kinda wish we wouldn’t have waited so long but on the other hand I know my 7 year old is eager to help
I feel that... my first kid was born only a couple hours into 12/13/12... after my wife went into labor two days earlier. Was really hoping for 12/12/12
Starting to realize that parenting a newborn is basically just moving them from place to place until they fall asleep or entertain themselves and then it's feeding time eventually lol
New CDC guidelines are kind of confusing for parents, esp having a 2 year old. He can’t get vaxxed and we have an adult family member who is still unvaxxed. We have been having the unvaxxed adult wear a mask around our son. He has been good about wearing a mask out but now his Gymboree and daycare don’t require anymore. I’m game to be done with the masks if it’s safe to do so, but I hope it’s not just a 5-6 month period and then in the fall we get hit by another variant and have to mask back up. Would be confusing for the kids, esp the young ones. Going to talk with the pediatrician today, hoping for some clarity.
I said this in the politics thread, but, just an FYI: The covid relief bill greatly increased the tax credit for child care expenses, and increased who qualifies for it. Don't forget that part on your taxes, parents.
Shouldn’t affect it, we also took the standard deduction, but this is a tax credit not a deduction. i think incomes up to $125K qualify for the full credit this time around, usually it’s much much lower
hah i WISH We got it all back. I tried reading up on on the credit as much as I could but the info I found was confusing. It said 50% tax credit if you get the "Full" credit or something like that but it wasn't really clear who qualified for that. All told we got almost 25% of our childcare costs back as a tax credit, so, REALLY fuckin helpful when you're paying that much.
Our daughter was selfish and decided to wait until January to be born so we're not doing any tax stuff for her this year. Also wouldn't even know where to start lol
Feel for you. Our son was born in December ‘21 and it almost felt like cheating claiming him so soon.
saline spray and humidifier is what we usually used. also, if it's bad or the congestion is getting in their throat the nose sucker thing worked pretty well. it seems gross at first but once you're used to it it helps get a lot of stuff out.
Seconding everything above. My son was snorting like crazy for the first couple months and his doctor gave up saline drops which worked wonders.
