I'm 25, had my first child at 21. Would've waited a few years as well haha.

I was 31 and my wife was 30 when we had ours. We tried for 3 years. Nothing wrong, but wasn't working. Finally happened on fertility medicine 2 months before we agreed what would be the end of actively trying. Pregnancy was not kind to my wife and she was sick pretty much the whole time unfortunately, to the point she had to be hospitalized at one point. So glad I have my girl though. She's amazing and I am so thankful that I have her.

It's funny you say that because I feel like i've done things "the right way" by getting married, waiting a few years and then start having kids and yadda yadda but it doesn't seem like anybody really gives a shit about that at all. And I guess because maybe it's perceived that we didn't have to struggle to get where we are or something idk, just weird to me. It was always weird being asked that question as well because for me, like I WAS excited but I didn't want to really show it for the reasons stated previously and what not and honestly I didn't really feel much different and still don't even now that he's here. Hearing you think very similarly to me makes me feel better about myself a little bit.

That story is pretty funny, hahaha. Like that name!

Glad y'all were finally able to conceive. Sorry to hear y'all went through all that but glad everything is better and healthy now!

I'm 30 and had my son at 29. He's just now seven months old. My wife is 29 and will be 30 in September. She also wants to have all of our kids before 35. It is a little weird to think about grandkids sometimes, especially when I just started, but there's a part of me that hopes I will be young and spry enough to really be part of my grandchildren's lives some day (if I have any of course). All of my grandparents died in their early 60s so I get worried sometimes.

So good to hear our similarities, hah. I always felt like I was doing things "right" too. But then I got divorced. =\ Then now this has happened. And I can't help but feel like a slight disappointment to my parents, because they tried really hard to give me the best, most "normal" life possible. Blah! I agree, though - makes me feel better a little bit. :) Thanks!

And thanks! Audrey and Jean are both family names so that's always good, plus I like them! I mean it was that or Jasey Rae (hehe, All Time Low).

What day was your son born didn't realize ours were about the same age! Sept 22nd for my little dude.

Yeah that's really close, haha. My son was born October 7th so only a couple weeks apart! Poor little guy had a double ear infection a week ago and now it has spread to his eyes. We're on antibiotics and all that, but we have to wait two more weeks to see if he needs tubes.

@colorlesscliche was also around then too, pretty crazy!

Poor guy, hope the best for him! If he does end up needing them at least he'll be too young to remember it. I had them as a baby as well.

Well, I guess this means we ap/chorus folk, uh, like the holidays.

It's...a little embarrassing for me and personal, but I suffer from a "delay" during intercourse which makes it very difficult to get pregnant. My issue stems from nobody telling me there was a wrong way to masturbate when I was a kid (I grew up in this church that taught us it was shameful, etc., so no one talked about it). I learned late in life as a result that "supine" position is correct and "prone" can cause damage, which I now feel is this weird important thing I will have to awkwardly teach my son. So as a result of all of this my wife and I had to try to artificially inseminate at home (otherwise we'd have to consider a more costly route). We were really worried it wouldn't work and my wife was extremely stressed about it. It ended up working on the second try though. I guess we got really lucky. I just hope it works for another baby because my wife stresses out thinking about it.

It often starts at a very young age and it gets worse over time if you don't keep it in check. Little kids have no idea what they're doing because all they know is that it feels good. It is a completely different sensation though and I actually had to teach myself how to do it properly when I got older. That was a very frustrating experience and honestly took a few months to find success. As a result my body is still confused about it to this day, which makes things difficult.

Don't think I've ever posted a pic of the little duder so here we are at last night's Astros game.

Trust me he's not always this happy.

Yeah it seems like Supine encompasses any position that has your penis not facing the floor so you're all good there, haha. It took me forever to learn how to do it standing up.

    This is an interesting conversation.

The more you know... I've never heard any of that, but it's very interesting. I like seeing people talk openly about issues that other people may experience, but isn't usually talked about. I'm pretty open about the fetility issues my wife and I had because I feel like it's something that a lot of people experience, but very few people are actually willing to talk about.

Yep! I feel like this is a good community to do that in as well. Even if somethings are difficult to talk about, I feel like there is a great group of people here for the most part that hold no judgment over others.
