Also, super pumped for this. Hometown heroes. I think the song rocks, not exactly sold on this mix though? Sounded kind of messy through my car speakers.

Such a great band. Almost still hasn't left regular rotation for me. Stoked for this record.

Holy fuck this song is so good. Instant classic, I’ve always really liked them but this is a special track. Wasn’t sold on ‘Neil Young on High’ but this is one of my favorite songs of the year, instantly.

Yeah, I can’t see this record not being one of my top 10 of the year.

My pre-order arrived yesterday and surprise surprise, the album is fantastic. It marries the moodiness of Creature Native with the directness and pop sensibilities of Almost. It may not be a giant leap forward creatively for the band, but it really is a reinforcement of everything they do best. I love it so much.

Between this and the Sable soundtrack, today is gonna whip.

My only complaint about this is that the first four songs were singles, which a lot of artists do and i never truly understand. But, they’re all great so it’s cool.

I don't know how I ended up missing the releases from 9/24, but this and The Greeting Committee absolutely rule.

They played two new songs tonight and covered Now, Now (ATTN: @Orla). I recorded all three, but I’m not a Now, Now fan so I don’t know which song it was (or at least I’ve never gotten into them). I’ll upload it to YouTube soon though.

Thanks, Andrew! Excited to hear the new tunes & find out which NN song was covered. I’m guessing it was something from Threads.

It was something from 2012 which I know is that album, so yeah

Looks like the next album is called “Spring Grove”.

As a former Cincinnatian, i can tell you that Spring Grove Cemetery is the most beautiful, Ophelias-ish cemetery around.

This and Rind are so good, and I feel like Spencer only gets better and better as a lyricist.

Going down a rabbit hole today. I used to think part of why i liked this band is because we’re from the same place, and i always felt like Cincinnati was part of their DNA (references to Wooster Pike, the Comet, Spring Grove Cemetery, etc. I’m fairly sure I know who Spencer is singing about in Rind lol).

Now that I’ve not lived there for 5 years, I feel like I can better appreciate their music as its own independent thing so let me say: what a damn band. They have such a good sound, the lyrics are very evocative and sometimes really funny, and it’s just very warm music. They also seem like very kind and thoughtful people. Just a lot going on to really dive into as a listener. Can’t wait for the EP.
