My sister had Smash on cassette in 1995, and then her boyfriend when I was in sixth grade in 1998-1999 (and she was a senior) gave her a casette that had Smash one side and Ixnay on the other, which at the same time American was hitting it big. At that point they really rapidly became my favorite band for several years until like 2006 and have still been a huge fan ever since.
I can’t believe how many monthly listeners they have on Spotify. I didn’t know they were still that popular.
I can’t think of the better workout, hockey warm up or jogging music than them.Im probably not alone haha
Spotify numbers really aren’t very surprising. When you’ve had a number of huge singles like they have, those songs tend to find their way into official Spotify playlists with millions of listeners. Crazy Town haven’t had anything close to a relevant song since 2000 and still pull over 2 million monthly listeners lol
Figured I’d bump the last thread in the music thread bc I’ve never done that. It feels good and I’m kinda surprised it’s the offspring thread lol.
Noodles just did a Twitter Q&A yesterday to celebrate Conspiracy of One turning 20. He didn't have much of substance to say haha. I think it's an interesting album because they double down on both the good and bad parts of their sound. You've got Vultures, Come Out Swinging, and All Along mixed in with Original Prankster, Living In Chaos, and Special Delivery.
I love Living In Chaos and Special Delivery. I'd group Original Prankster more with Want You Bad, personally.
Tbh I love loved those songs too when I was younger. I even wrote in a journal one time that Special Delivery was my fav Offspring song haha. The sample is such a BOLD choice
It's not one of my favorites overall by a longshot but I still love it, regardless of the sample hahaha
Noodles did say some new tunes are on the way. I always give em a shot. Some of the deep cuts on Days Go By are pretty great.
