I went. The covers killed the momentum. Someone by me even remarked, "They could be playing something off Smash or Ignition right now." Totally valid.
Killer. Pennywise ripped, as did Dropkick Murphy's. Watching Fletcher scream "Fuck Trump!" before the band kicked into "Fuck Authority" was exceptional. Ha.
These guys are a great example of a band with some killer deep cuts that will never get played because of nostalgia sets and hits. And a bunch of cover songs. Kind of feel the same way about 1/4 of Goldfinger’s live sets being this way too.
Goldfinger was a really weird one at Slam Dunk Festival this year. I enjoyed what they played but it was pretty much the exact same setlist as last time they played and as you said featured 4 covers and 8 originals in a 45 minute set that they finished over 5 minutes early and just left.
Yeah, exactly. I’d love to see Goldfinger (and the Offspring) live but what a bummer to have such solid back catalogues and play lame covers instead. I get the 99 Balloons cover being played but c’mon.
