yeah I can't blame him but I also can't blame Dexter for not wanting to potentially get thousands of people sick a night, especially if venues have vaccine requirements
Pete did some good work in face to face. Respect the fact that his post was longer than 60 characters to address his situation, as I am sure that was tough news to receive.
A deluxe edition of this album is now available on Spotify featuring a French version of We Never Have Sex Anymore (retitled Guerre Sous Couvertes) and a live version of Opioid Diaries. Sure, why not
Those were the Japanese Bonus tracks, guess they decided to put them out worldwide. Guerre Sous Couvertes was also released as the B-Side to a We never have sex anymore 7" last week. While the translation is a bit janky, sometimes translated word by word, thus creating some gramatically weird sentences, Dexters French is actually very good when it comes to pronounciation. Much better than that time Greg Graffin tried to sing a Bad Religion song in German
I still think this is a huge disappointment. The Offspring were one of my favourite bands in my younger years and it sucks to see them release such uninspiring music the past two albums. I know they still have another solid album or two in them.
The Opioid Diaries sounds like classic 90s Offspring to me and honestly it’s the probably best song since Splinter
If you combined the best stuff from this and Days Go By you'd have an album that is at least as good as Rise and Fall... ... But that says more about how little they have produced since 2008. DGB: Future Is Now, Secrets From the Underground, DGB, Turning Into You, All I Have Left..., Dividing By Zero, Slim Pickens LTBTR: This Is Not Utopia, Behind Your Walls, Army of One, Coming For You, Opioid Diaries, We Never Have Sex Anymore
HOT TAKE: Dexter Holland is a much better songwriter/arranger than performer. I wonder why he hasn't co-written for other bands yet.
