Was going to mention sturgill but didn’t since the new stuff isnt really country, but yeah that’s the big one today.
I figured that's why you didn't mention it. I've only spun it once, but I think I'm going to love it. Tons of good stuff released today.
the John Calvin Abney record sounds a lot like Moreland, until he sings. Even the lyrics & vocal melody remind me a lot of Moreland. Which it sounds like that record should be coming soon. It was finished getting mixed as of yesterday.
It's way too long, but I'm kind of blown away at how much I'm enjoying the new Jon Pardi album. I thought his last one was fine, but largely forgettable. This new one is great.
Okay, after this I'll stop bringing this up, but I was feeling bad for Zac Brown and thinking he was probably having a really embarrassing mid-life crisis. I didn't listen to any of the songs on his solo album for more than like 30 seconds or so. "Every time I get a new bitch, I need a new bitch." "Bitch, I'm Patrick Swayze." What the hell???
I love these guys. Feels like it's been a long wait for new music, but I think something is coming soon.
Yea they’ve been on my radar since I heard “Rodeo” about a year ago. And then I caught them putting on a free show at a local brewery a few months later and I was completely sold.
Not sure if Dan + Shay technically are considered country, but if they are, they continue to write country pop hit after country pop hit
I wish Dan + Shay would tone down the production a little bit. I've seen videos of them just doing acoustic songs and they have unbelievable voices, but their stuff generally skews a little too airbrushed pop for me.
Anyone know Yola? She was featured on the Highwomen album. Caught her set at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and she really impressed me!
I missed this release from back in March but I think some of you would enjoy Gabe Lee's "Farmland" album
Cody Jinks released a new one today and apparently has another one coming next week. Pretty standard Jinks done well. No curveballs here.
