Yeah, there's a lot of them... these 2, Danielle Bradberry, Cassadee Pope, Dustin Christensen, Adam Wakefield. Probably some others I'm missing.
Thanks for the heads up on these. I picked up his other album after seeing him open for Brian Fallon a few years ago and liking him a lot, and it is a really good album. I haven't listened to the whole Jade Jackson album yet but I did buy it and the songs I've heard so far are fantastic.
i know it's probably reductive to compare them to the pistol annies, but...this is much better than the pistol annies
uhhhhhh edit: realized it isn’t evident until the clip is nearly over but apparently sturgill made an anime show for netflix and an album about that are coming out this fall???
Bit more info on it, he said it'll be an "American rock album" and his most psychedelic: https://www.vulture.com/2019/07/sturgill-simpson-previews-anime-film-new-album-at-comic-con.html This is wild but I'm here for it
It’s a couple years old at this point, but I just heard this song for the first time a couple days ago and it’s a fuckin jaaaaam! I can’t stop listening to it.
I think I’m opening for Joe Huber this winter/fall at a local venue. Pretty pumped about it. Even if I don’t, seeing him is always great. He’s at another bar in town in August and I can’t wait.
I'm a big fan of the new Tyler Childers. Perfect time for it to come out because I have a 16-hour drive with a mainstream country fan next weekend. Adding it to my playlist of good country music that he's probably never heard of haha.
I know the new Childers is the big country release from this past week, and deservedly so, but I recommend this new Mike and the Moonpies album as well. I saw someone describe the sound like a Frank Sinatra country album, and I actually think that’s kind of accurate.
Childers live streaming his album release show. Opened with House Fire, playing Whitehouse Road right now. Just started.
