Alot of her stuff from the 60s is pretty dark if you could believe that. Especially "The Bridge" which is about a pregnant woman committing suicide.
Looking forward to checking this out. Also been loving the new Canyon City (country) and Dermott Kennedy (mor folk). Canyon has very Dawes-like songwriting, and Kennedy reminds me of Glen Hansard (with some pretty big differences - give the entire record a chance). Love your thoughts on those.
Going to see Ian Noe’s album release show tomorrow night in a 200 capacity venue. I’m pretty pumped. I expect him to blow up quickly.
I'm not gonna say that this had my eyes misting up at work, but I'm not gonna say it didn't. I can't wait to listen to the rest of this.
Not sure how many Joe Pug fans are on chorus but I'm excited for his new music. I still play the Nation of Heat EP all the time. Some cool pre-order bonuses too like signed lyric sheets.
New Sturgill song would've been right at home on High Top Mountain and I'm really happy that he's still got that kind of tune in him
Yeah I've been listening to her little EP quite a bit. Did you know both her and your boy Austin Jenckes were on The Voice?
I knew Austin was. This is the first I’ve heard of her. The Voice is establishing a nice little track record of producing good country artists.
Yeah, there's a lot of them... these 2, Danielle Bradberry, Cassadee Pope, Dustin Christensen, Adam Wakefield. Probably some others I'm missing.
