Thanks man. That means a lot! I plan on listening to the full album today. I hope it's as good as this song. Their voices go together perfectly.
Okay I've posted about them before, but they finally have a full length out. Everyone should listen to Michigan Rattlers new cd. This is a blurb from Rolling Stone: "FOR FANS OF: WHISKEYTOWN-ERA RYAN ADAMS, EARLY WILCO, THE ACOUSTIC SIDE OF RHETT MILLER AND THE OLD 97'S."
Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival is coming up, and I'm woefully ignorant about most of the artists performing. I know I want to see Courtney Marie Andrews, Gregory Alan Isakov, Trampled by Turtles, and Jeff Tweedy. There's some other names I recognize as well, but is there anyone else from this lineup that I should make sure not to miss?
@ChaseTx Podcast on Old 97's entire discography. From a hardcore fans perspective, this is amazing. Two big fans and a new fan and they just go through each album. 2.5 hours Political Beats Podcast: Old 97's | National Review
Yeah I didn't really know anything about them...looked at their Twitter after listening and was a little disappointed, but the discussion didn't reveal anything political at all and the guest is a hardcore fan so it was very enjoyable.
This album is solid. I listened on Spotify and it kept going after the album ended and that Haim cover came out of nowhere. Good stuff.
Yeah I looked at one of the hosts Twitter and it was alternating between music posts and retweets defending kavanaugh :(
Also, the new Eric Church album is super interesting. Been spending a lot of time with that one this week.
While I don't agree with you, just wanted to voice my respect for this take nonetheless My semi-related hot take is that I'd feel pretty comfortable saying Anodyne is the best non-YHF record Tweedy has ever been a part of
I'm not clear on whether it counts as a full new album. It's only eight songs and two of them have been on a previous album (though in different incarnations). It's pretty good stuff, though. I generally like his personal writing more than his political writing, but these songs are resonating this week.
Ah yeah I just listened to it. I'm not into politics so yeah this isn't really for me, songs are fine but don't think i'll revisit this much.
