I like "17" as the penultimate track, but I would have moved "Grand Charade" to the second half of the record and put "Little Bit of Rust" as track 2.
Major Bruce Springsteen and Butch Walker vibes from this new Kip Moore album. @CellarGhosts, you'd love this.
Good song. Spot on with the Bruce comparison. Have you by chance given the new Gangs of Youth album a listen? If you haven't I think you'd be really in to it. Their stuff is like a fusion of Springsteen, the National, and the Gaslight Anthem.
Yeah, I definitely dig this haha. I loved his last album and "Something 'Bout a Truck" notwithstanding, I liked his first record alright too. Glad he's building off the Bruce vibes he established on Wild Ones.
Wild Ones is a weirdly overlooked record. Mainstream country radio really kind of gave him the boot when he decided not to be bro country anymore.
Hey folks, I'm new and although I've searched, I hope you'll forgive me if these are repeats. Couple of Nashville-based artists I think people in this thread might enjoy. Lillie Mae — fiddle player for Jack White who put out her debut solo album, Forever and Then Some, on Third Man Records earlier this year. This is one of my favorite tracks, which has a Natalie Maines feel to it. Blank Range: They're not country exactly, but Americana-leaning rock so figured I'd throw it out. Great band, who just put out a debut LP called Marooned With The Treasure. Curious what people think.
Haha, yeah that unfortunately seems to be the case. Glad he's sticking to doing what he wants to do though. On the subject of mainstream country, I'm really liking this new Cadillac Three record. Surprised they released a new one so soon, but I'm enjoying it. Could just be me but it sounds slightly less radio-oriented than Bury Me In My Boots, which even then, the radio-ready songs on that album I kinda liked ha. I'm digging this Alex Williams record too, hopefully his being signed to Big Machine is a sign of bigger labels moving more toward neo-traditionalists but I doubt it. I'd love to believe bro-country is dying but that's just the sliver of optimist in me haha.
Not sure how popular Sean McConnell is around here but I'm excited for the acoustic release of his last cd. There's also a new song appearing on it with Lori McKenna
You can listen to the new cd from David Ramirez before it's released. David Ramirez - Indie Americana
This Lone Bellow album has some really fun songs. This might finally be the full album of theirs that sticks with me
While I'm here in this thread, I've really been enjoying the album by Lion Bear Fox from earlier this year.
The new Christian Lopez album is also out today. I reviewed it yesterday. I think people here would dig this. Catchy, breezy folk-pop.
