What's his best album front-to-back? I've just been listening to the most popular songs on Spotify. They're all fantastic.
I agree Where'd You Hide the Body is great, but I think I prefer Childish Things and Complicated Game. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of the three. I'm seeing him here in about 2 weeks and I can't wait. It will be my first time seeing him live so I can finally check him off my list!
I started listening to Lauren Alaina and Kelsea Ballerini today and enjoyed them enough. They have that Taylor Swift Fearless kinda vibe, which I can't ever have enough of. Anyone else similar to that? I really don't listen to country... ever... and I still don't enjoy 98% of what I hear. Chris Stapleton though...
New Will Hoge song, featuring Sheryl Crow. New album out in August. Hear Will Hoge, Sheryl Crow's Resilient New Song 'Little Bit of Rust'
Love his guest spot on the Colter Wall record. Not familiar with him beyond that, but I like this a lot. Also, for everyone who hasn't clicked on this yet, the producer is one Sturgill Simpson.
I'm one of those people who when someone asks me what music I listen to I say "I love all kinds of music...except country". please give me some recs to some of your all time faves and I'll see if my perspective changes. I've never even dug through any country besides like Johnny Cash.
I've had Steve Earle's El Corazon in my car for a week. From '95 to 2000 or so there's a good argument to be made that no one in the genre was doing it better.
I saw him open for Brent Cobb a few months back and went in knowing nothing about him, but he was really impressive live and I've been looking forward to hearing more from him ever since. Agree the guest spot on the Wall album is great too and was a nice surprise. The fact that Simpson produced this is pretty intriguing.
Really good overlooked Steve Earle song. I was listening to my country playlist on spotify going to work today and "Billy Austin" came up and goddamn that song gives me chills every time.
Earle has a new one coming out on the 16th, looks like. Wasn't even aware. I've been lukewarm on his last few albums but I'll definitely check that out.
I don't think I posted this one yet: new Suzanne Santo single. She's in the band HoneyHoney and did harmonies and violin work all over the last Butch Walker record. Butch produced her new album. Hear HoneyHoney Singer Suzanne Santo's Driving 'Ghost in My Bed' I'm looking forward to this album. She opened for Butch last fall and is one of the most purely talented live vocalists I've ever seen.
