Not seeing a thread for her, so posting here. Caught Lucinda Williams tonight. Man, what a beautiful show even though it wasn’t a full audience. Such a legend. In case you didn’t know, she had a stroke a few years ago and it seems she needs assistance walking and staying balanced. But she still sounds amazing. Lots of covers—songs by The Beatles, Bob Marley, Neil Young, and some delta blues covers. Super chatty too, as she shared a lot of personal anecdotes around her songs in between rallying us to get involved with protesting/voting. She kept telling us to spread hope and stay empowered, and she left the show with this huge appreciative smile. It was so heartwarming.

Fans of Katie Pruitt would like this Colorado-based songwriter Jobi Riccio. Her new album came out Friday and there are some real stunners on here, like “Wildfire Season” and “Love of the Song”.

A lot of it is too close to schlager for my taste, that happens in country sometimes

Schlager... That's a new one. Perfect word to describe it though. Lots of generic 49 Winchester sounding songs. Changes was a lead single and it's just a flat out bad song. Is it supposed to be a nod to Ozzy? If so, why??? How is this the same band that wrote Russell County Line...

    Woo, yeah
I feel unhappy, and I feel so sad
And I have lost the best friend that I ever had
She was my woman, and I love her so
But it's too late now, I let her go

    I'm going through changes
    I'm going through changes
    I'm going through changes
    In my life

We shared the years, we shared each day
In love, together, we found the way
But soon, the world had its evil way
And my heart was blinded, love went astray, yeah

    And I'm going through changes
    I'm going through changes
    I'm going through changes
    In my life

I'm enjoying the 49 winchester quite a bit. Not a fan of Changes or Oh Savannah but the rest is really good.

LOL shows how well I know the original besides the "I'm going through changes". Bad version of the song regardless.

Definitely, that was the point at which I went “aight guys this might not be it” for the first time during this album

  11. Seeing her at Shoals Fest a few years ago was very very special even though she was even more immediately post stroke then and less recovered

Ingrid is 3 for 3 and this new single is more of a driving rock song than country. Bring on the album!

I think we're up to four now, actually. This one, "Now I Know, "Taillights," and "Tattoos."

Album announcement gotta be coming soon, right?

it's all got the same aesthetic, so you'd think so. then again she didn't do anything with "Catch 22" and "Footprints" either!

why do i feel like Ella Langley is a Kacey Musgraves doppelganger, as in she is fine with acceptance of the good ol' boys club.

I'm not sure I understand either... I don't really see the two as being all that similar. Kacey really has her own style.

at the risk of making people mad, Ella Langley strikes me more as a female solo Midland. and I don't mean that so much as a knock on her, as I think those guys are better / more interesting than they get credit for.

Ella Langley is more in the lineage of Lainey Wilson than Kacey Musgraves, IMO. She does seem to have questionable politics, though.

Am I a bad person if I think the trad wife anthem is top three on the Ella album?

    thank you.

I'll be honest, I don't think I listened to this entire album. I didn't hate it or think it was awful, but I wasn't blown away by any of the songs or think they were really on the level of "Choosing Texas", aside from "Speaking Terms". that's a fantastic song. the rest of the album felt pretty samey to me and I didn't make it all the way to the end.

“Loving Life Again” is a great song. She’s got one hell of a twang
