I feel like "new Kathleen Edwards co-produced by and played with Jason Isbell" should be bigger news! Odd that I didn't hear a peep about it before release. Edit: it's REALLY good. Isbell obviously worships her earlier albums as much as I do.
Max Gomez sophomore album out today. Took him over a decade to finally put it out. I really think some people around here would enjoy his stuff, he’s a fantastic songwriter. The title track is an all timer.
Caught Ian Noe live last week with a full band and nearly half of the set was new songs so I can't imagine a new record is far away. This track and "Canyon Falls Trailer Band" stood out in particular:
The debut album from Brighton band The New Eves that dropped last month is really cool, it's a mix of folk and punk and is great. I feel like fans of the newer wave of alt-country would really dig it. Shoutout Nina Corcoran over at Pitchfork for recommending it. Came here to post about Cole too. One of my most anticipated albums of the year and he crushed it. Spirit was giving me goosebumps on my first time through.
Ian Noe posted a song by this guy a couple months ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. After several months of releasing these songs in 4 parts the full album is finally out today.
I'm sure everyone is distracted with TSL, but big release week in country world too... Marcus King, Whiskey Myers, Kolton Moore, CWG Live album, and a few good singles.
