“Covering My Tracks” is the one that made my summer mix but there’s a handful that could have all been in contention. But when “Time After Time” started on the tail end of my run, I was like… what the hell, who wants this. Also idk if you saw my thread about it but there’s a surprise new Cam album out in two weeks!
I completely missed that Charles Kelley album, and it is so far up my alley that it isn't even funny. so glad this thread brought that one to my attention. for me, there wasn't a bad song on there, even the Time After Time cover haha but I can definitely see that one at Track 15 testing most people's patience objectively it's a little too long, but I actually think some of those songs towards the end are stronger than some of the earlier tracks (not the Time After Time cover), but fatigue starts kicking in at that point
Have we talked about Ty Myers in here yet? Debut album, The Select, came out earlier this year. I'd say he sings like Tyler Childers and plays guitar like John Mayer, if you're looking for an intriguing RIYL. Just popped up on my radar yesterday, and I like what I'm hearing so far.
Saw Stephen Wilson Jr last night. He sounded damn good and was shredding. Only gripe is he didn’t play most of my favorite songs of his.
I feel like everyone in this thread has seen him except me! Super bummed nothing lines up for me when I'm in the US. I'd even go to the Hardy tour if a date lined up haha
now this song is doing something to me. don't know Audrey Spillman, glad for the Moreland collab so I caught on
That Evan Bartels EP from this year is fantastic, thanks to the person who put “Death of a Good Man” in the country music playlist!
I was going to add him but got beaten to the punch. EP is so freakin good. Make sure you check out his OurVinyl session from a few years back!
Yeah that was me. Sorry @MikeERayner. Bartels is so good. His album “Lonesome” from a few years back is packed with jams that may make you cry. Shotgun in particular.
I’m going to so many good shows on my US trip in Sept but seeing him at AmericanaFest is pretty close to top of the list!
I just listened to the new Morgan Wade and I don’t know, it was fine, but it all just felt very familiar, like a Morgan Wade paint-by-numbers.
I feel like she's an artist who has so much to offer and just has never quite put it together. serious quality control issues, the album has wayyyy too many maudlin ballads.
Random thought, but man, I still find it insane Garth Brooks can only be found streaming on Amazon Music. Like, how asinine of a decision is this? If he wanted to spread his music as far and wide as possible, he’d have it on every streaming platform that exists. Which he clearly doesn’t want to happen for whatever reason. Are there any other artists/bands of his stature/fame that only do one service? I’d love to do a full discography listen through of his music, but can’t, as I’m not going to subscribe to another service just for one artist.
Well right now I don't have a CD player (my laptop at home doesn't have a CD drive), and I'd really only want to do this via the easiest method possible, which is streaming. Not that big of a deal; more than anything just curious what is behind Garth's thinking
