"Heaven Passing Through" is my favorite on the Turnpike album Also, I listened to the Muscadine Bloodline album yesterday. Never heard them before but I loved the album
I like the Muscadine album from last year more (The Coastal Plain), but this is still solid. Ballad of the Blanton Brothers is a ripper.
Yeah its not as good as Coastal Plain. It could use a couple more up tempo songs. Kinda bogs down the listen cause the pace is just slower but the songs themselves are very good. I LOVE Chickasaw.
Oh hell yeah. His last record is still one of my 5 or so favorites of the decade, so excited for this
Just checking in to say that I’m obsessed with the new Turnpike. They have to be the most underrated active modern country band. Feel like they just don’t get the respect as GOATs in accolades but their discography and songwriting can go toe to toe with anyone. this summer is going to have this album on repeat around the backyard fire pit.
I've been seeing a lot of hype for the Kat Hasty album. After one listen, can confirm it's justified.
New McMurtry song “Sailing Away” is really really good. Like the title track too but not quite as much
Finally digging into this Jack Van Cleaf album and it’s pretty bulletproof songwriting. Love the stretch of “Still” to “Go Home, Danny”
What would folks in here think about a monthly or quarterly collab playlist? So many albums get posted every week that it’s impossible for me to keep up!
I’d prefer to focus on new music given the volume of releases, but maybe it’s better to have a group discussion on what would be most fun! I was thinking we could have two playlists: 1) Everyone contributes to a collaborative playlist that we set parameters around. This would stick around and be updated on an ongoing basis to keep it manageable. We wouldn’t delete songs from the past week or anything, just move them down the page. Until… 2) Someone (me?) archives past songs from a certain time period (older than 3/6 months?) into an endless archive collection.
I'd love to contribute to a playlist. Country has been basically the only thing I've listened to lately and I'm always looking for new music.
