Sturgill Simpson/Johnny Blue Skies Is 2024’s Most Exciting Tour
Evan Bartels released a “new” song (it’s actually a re-recorded song off a little 2019 EP) but I really hope this means he’s got a new full length coming this year.
Fuckkkkk I just won a ticket to see Wyatt Flores here in Sydney next week at an invite only show in a tiny ass bar. He’s coming all the way here and only playing a festival in another state so wasn’t going to get to see him otherwise.
Listened to the new David Ramirez. Unfortunately it didn’t do anything for me. Fables and We’re Not Going Anywhere were so good but nothing since has clicked in the same way.
Digging the new Ryan Hurd album way more than I thought I would. I especially appreciate the Jack's Mannequin reference in this song:
New Brown Horse is really nice. Fits in nicely with some of the other recent indie/americana releases from artist like MJ Lendrrman, Merce Lemon, Fust, etc.
Muscadine Bloodline, Turnpike, and Jon Pardi all dropping on the same day is some sort of music holiday for me. Damn.
I haven't fallen in love with an album so quickly & so hard as I have with the new Turnpike Troubadours in a long time
I was trying to hold my expectations in check a bit once I found out they went with Shooter Jennings again, but from a songwriting perspective he / they absolutely knocked this one out of the park for me
yeah, the main criticism I kept reading from people who actually liked the album was that it is sequenced weird and that's a strange or bad opener. I guess I can see that from an energy / tempo standpoint, but not from an impact standpoint. that is such a fantastic song - it might be my favorite song on the whole album!
