I think I mentioned him in the Katie Pruitt thread, he played a great set including a couple of fabulous unreleased songs! “Rattlesnake” is great and I also really like this one.
The Megan Moroney album is great. Definitely one of the smartest country songwriters to come along in the past couple years.
Oh man, I didn’t know about this. That’s unfortunate. I quite like her. HR Derby anthem singer Andress entering rehab
Yeah, High on Tulsa Heat is the album that captures him at his very best, and probably the next step to take if you like his newest album, which sounds pretty similar. For more experimental Moreland, I also really love LP5.
Honestly never thought it would happen Will absolutely be going to the tour Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings - Woodland (August 23, 2024) • forum.chorus.fm
As far as Moreland goes I like Tulsa Heat the most, then LP5, then all the others about the same except Birds, which has some great songs but doesn’t do it for me overall
Haven’t listened yet but when Hyden said riyl “early Yoakam, Steve Earle - Guitar Town, The Mavericks” I basically did the lean forward in your chair meme
Yeah you don’t hear the mavericks in particular get mentioned too much these days and that sure is a great way to get my attention
