Not country but Patrick Droney announced his new album. I know a lot of us loved his last album. Hadnt seen the announcement on here.
not implying anything about Colter personally but i still haven’t recovered since finding out his dad is basically Canada’s Jeb!
I really loved the first Colter Wall album and everything else he’s made has done nothing for me. Can’t really figure out why.
I like them, but I kinda agree with this. Self titled was special, every album since then could be pretty much the same album.
I think what I like about his latest albums is how kind of "old school country" they sound. Like if I'm in the mood for something really "country", I would put his albums on. I give "Songs of the Plains" a listen probably every week or so
I know everyone in here tends to like more, uh, distinguished country acts, but I saw Thomas Rhett and Cole Swindell last night and it was a blast. Thomas even did a medley of covers that included Jimmy Eat World and Matchbox 20. “She Had Me At Heads Carolina” had all the lyrics on the screens like you were in a karaoke bar. That was a fun touch.
Thomas Rhett does have some pretty good tunes; Angels, Center Point Road, Where We Grew Up, and Remember You Young are some notable ones. If he came through here to Oslo (pretty low chance), I'd for sure grab a ticket.
His last couple albums haven't done much for me beyond a few tracks, but Rhett is definitely my favorite of the current crop of super mainstream country guys.
It seems like to be a country music star, musicians create a requirement for themselves that they either have to be from a small town, or pretend in their music to be from a small town, or else they won't be successful.
What an utter whore. I’m embarrassed to have even passively enjoyed one of his early records. Pathetic
I’ve never listened to anything of his on purpose, but it’s wild what he’s become even since I started paying attention to country music. A decade ago he just struck me as a pandering but mostly harmless establishment country guy. This shit goes way beyond pandering. This is dangerous.
