No recent releases have gotten me that excited lately but the new William Clark Green comes out in a week. Looking forward to that.

 

I missed Jamie McDells release last month. People should check her out.

 

IV and the Strange Band released a new single today and announced their debut album out June 17th. For what it’s worth, Coleman Williams is the great grandson of Hank Williams.

No joke this Ian Noe album is mindblowingly good

 

Hailey Whitters new album came out today and I've been listening to this on repeat more than anything else in awhile. So good.

 

William Clark Green is out today. Just ok. Was hoping to a return to a more Ringling Road-esque style. Some good songs but quite a bit of meh/filler.

 

It actually came out last week :) but yes it's very good

 

I like the Hailey album, but it feels a tad pandering to me in a way her first album didn't at all. Just a lot of songs that are checking boxes off the "generic country song topics" list.

Also, is it a controversial opinion to want a moratorium on country artists writing songs about marijuana?

Ian Noe is one of my favorites so I'll be spinning his a lot today but I'm pretty excited to dive into the new Maren Morris as well

 

Been enjoying this song lately. His voice reminds me a lot of Michael Martin Murphey.

Yeah, really can't get enough of the Ian Noe record these past few days. It's been rainy and gloomy in northern Michigan, and this album is hitting the spot.

 

Yeah the new Ian Noe is pretty easily my favorite album so far this year. Was supposed to see him tomorrow night in Nashville but he just canceled due to covid :(

Also, when did Keith Whitley’s Miami (My Amy?) become a Tik Tok meme song? Not complaining because that rules but still a surprise nevertheless.

I know I've said it before but something about that guy just does not sit right with me. He has some good songs but for the most part I feel like I'm watching/listening to someone take the piss.

 

I know Willi Carlisle is probably not for everybody but wow what a song. Live performance even better. Really looking forward to the album in July.

 

What is it that you don’t like? I’m going to see him in Baltimore next month. Kinda pumped for it.
