Guess the lyrical content of every song revolves around a single event, but the music itself is pretty decent
Yeah the new Billy Strings is insanely good. He’s always been a killer musician, but on this one it feels like his songwriting took a big leap forward as well.
"The Ballad of Dood & Juanita" by Sturgill Simpson is probably my favorite album release of the year so far
I've been listening to almost nothing but Flatland Cavalry's new album since July. Pretty pumped to see them when they come to Michigan for the first time EVER in a month.
Man, I hadn’t heard of Billy Strings until just a little bit ago when I passed by a Spin article about him on FB but damn, I genuinely wish I had known about him sooner. This is just fantastic bluegrass, like wow.
feel like i’ve seen next to no discussion on the brandi carlisle album and … it’s coming out in a day??
I've only listened to it twice so far, but I thought it was great. No one song that blew me away as an absolute show-stopper, but every single song was solid and they felt to me like the kind of songs I would appreciate more and more over time and grow to love.
Finally got around to listening to The Horses and the Hounds and goddamn, McMurtry never fails to blow me away with his lyricism.
I'm kinda meh on new Brandi so far. Maybe I just need more time with it but I wasn't blown away, seems a little samesy in spots
I love the new Brandi. The one I'm a little mixed on is the Mickey Guyton album. Some absolutely transcendent highlights, but a lot of spots where it leans toward generic "arena country," a la some of the less inspired Carrie Underwood material.
One of my favorite country albums of the past five years. Very excited for her new one. Sounds like she is going for something very different this time. More of a ‘90s Sheryl Crow sound.
Pains me to say but I was not really a fan of the new Natalie Hemby. I'll give it another shot but I just could not get into it.
Finally an update from Ian Noe. Sounds like a new album should be coming real soon! Ian Noe - The Influences
