That Carly Pearce album was one of the top disappointments of the year for me. I really loved and went to bat for her debut, but self-titled mostly felt like dull ballads and color-by-number love songs, and the male guest spots on there are...not good. It doesn’t help that album’s replay value that the relationship/marriage in inspired ended like two months after the album came out, or that the guy she was with is apparently kind of a douche.
Big fan of that Brothers Osborne album. I was disappointed with the Granger Smith album. He has been going steadily downhill IMO.
Found out he’s a Trumper afterwards, but I recently heard “Anymore” by Travis Tritt for the first time and really liked it. Any recommendations for similar artists (preferably with better views)?
Been listening to Hal Ketchum a lot since he passed. Past the Point of Rescue is one of the best country albums of the 90s, maybe ever.
Seems like Hailey Whitters is putting out a deluxe / new EP on Feb 26. This new song is good, the writing reminds me of Maren Morris.
I like them both, but the one out today is more my speed. I wouldn't be surprised if it's 3-5 collabs.
Looks like that’s the case! LIVING THE DREAM Deluxe Track List: 13. Fillin’ My Cup (feat. Little Big Town) 14. Glad to Be Here (feat. Brent Cobb) 15. How To Break A Heart (feat. Lori McKenna & Hillary Lindsey) 16. How Far Can It Go? (feat. Trisha Yearwood) 17. The Ride (feat. Jordan Davis)
Yep, that one will be cool. Also interested to see what she cooks up with Brent Cobb, who I tend to like more as a co-writer or collaborator than as a solo artist.
Y'all should check out the new Tom Hanks film "News of the World"; some quite nice mellow country/folk/banjo music used throughout the soundtrack. Film itself I'd classify as a western, with incredible cinematography of Texas/New Mexico
Eric Church is releasing 3 records in April, a collection called "Heart And Soul". Pre-order begins on January 29th.
