I need to revisit Voyageur, her later stuff has never hit me the same as the earlier material but that might be different now
Anyone hear the new Steve Earle yet? I didn't even realize he had a record coming out until I saw it on Spotify recently
it seems like a lot has been delayed or whatever due to COVID (saw margo price’s album is “2020” now), but what have been the key 2020 releases for the genre so far?
Beyond Isbell, some of my favs: American Aquarium Ashley McBryde Caitlyn Smith Hailey Whitters Ingrid Andress John Moreland Katie Pruitt Kelsea Ballerini Ken Yates Maddie & Tae Steve Moakler
I'm not sure, really. I haven't heard much chatter about that. I haven't been as good about digging into some of the newer, more under-the-radar stuff as I have in prior years, so it's been a bit slower than usual from my perspective, but I'm sure there's great stuff out there I haven't heard yet. There haven't been many huge albums yet, but that's partially because both Margo and Dixie Chicks delayed their records indefinitely.
Craig's list is great (haven't heard all of those though), add Lilly Hiatt and Futurebirds (maybe more country-adjacent) to it
Prob my least favorite of the new Courtney Marie Andrews tracks but still pretty solid. I love love love the first two though... trying to convince my fiancé to go with “If I Told” as our wedding song.
The new John Baumann album is pretty lovely so far. I think folks who dig Ruston Kelly would enjoy this.
Been waiting on this one to be announced for a while. New album produced by Neal Casal out in August.
Margo announced rescheduling for July 10 and Ruston announced the album for August 28 today. good shit.
This Lilly Hiatt album is awesome! Was thinking of making a thread for it, @Craig Manning check it out this was made for you. My favorites are “Never Play Guitar”, “Move”, “P-Town”, and “Drawl” but honestly every song is growing on me. Nice turns of phrase.
