I like both Ryan and Gabe lol

Ryan's douchiness was hilarious to me and Zach Wood's delivery always kills me

Been on a rewatch of this, I've actually never gotten through all the way from the end of season 8-onward, so should be interesting

Anywho, stumbled across one of my favorite Stanley moments today

Got to the goddamned GPS episode again...ugh it's so horribly stupid. I thought Michael wasn't paying attention and they just hit the late on accident because of the GPS directions. I completely forgot that he willingly drove into it because of the GPS, no one is that stupid.

I completely forgot about Erin's character, she was always pretty funny, and I also like Gabe, never had a problem with him.

The only people I didn't like at all were Nellie, Pete and Brian the camera guy.

I warmed to Nellie a bit, she wasn't awful. Pete was the guy who started dating Erin. That was so forced to me. He was just dumb lol.

Ohhhhhh the new Jim? I completely forgot about that douche bag. Didn't they call him something else?

Erin got on my goddamn nerves.

i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

There are numerous true stories of people crashing cars when they put the vehicle on cruise control, thinking that meant the car drove itself. So people believing a GPS to such extreme proportions isn't that outrageous, but that scene could have been handled much better.

If you're looking at a body of water and your car is telling you to go STRAIGHT INTO IT, do you really think there are people that stupid? Shit, now that I type that out I have to say that yes, there is at least some people who will do that shit.

Like I said, could have been better handled haha. At most, have Michael distracted and just drive the front end into the water and then back out. But as they did it, that far into the show with all that we know of Michael, it didn't work.

Dwight being against GPSs/technology though was perfect for him.

Yea see, I thought he wasn't paying attention because he was arguing with Dwight.

They were arguing. But they were arguing about following the GPS directions. Dwight says something like, "but that's not a road!" and they point and shit right at the fucking lake/river/whatever and Michael keeps driving.

It is great though when the GPS says, "turn around" (or maybe "make a U-Turn") after the car is already filled with water and has been abandoned :crylaugh:

it's almost unfair how great this show was / is for seasons 2&3 (and parts of 4&5).

"Women's Appreciation" is one of my top 5 favorite episodes. from Michael's finger through his fly, to "show us your penis", to "what is a pap smear?", to wanting to buy Angela 'a fresh set of panties', to the mugshot of Dwight, to Meredith's driving and state of her van, to Creed's reveal of "going number 2" in the women's restroom and "paying dearly that privilege", to the breakup with Jan via voicemail that she listens to while facing him in his office... it's a perfect episode.

  18. Finished season three on my re-watch today. Pam's arc in that season is so great to watch, and the last three episodes are brilliant.

In terms of story telling, it's the best thing about season 3.

Be sure to drink your Ovaltine.

My rewatch has me at season 6 just past the 2-part for Pam and Jim's wedding.

2 of my favorite parts during those:
Andy's chuckle when he says he's breaking in the bed the night before.

Kevin at the end where he's sitting with his feet in the ice machine.

I also felt terrible for Kevin when the hotel said they had to destroy his shoes.

in season 4 when the whole "murdered cat" storyline came up, i think that was the first time i raised my eyebrow in puzzlement and questioned what the show was doing. everything to that point, i believe, was well structured and thought out. that story still feels like such an incorrect, unmanageable situation, no matter how funny they try to make it be and from what i read in other threads and such it really seemed to turn a lot of people off to Dwight and make him just that awkward character that people no longer loved or hated to love. he was that rarest of grey areas.

I think Dwight had to mature in the later seasons, to the point where he finally becomes the regional manager, he had a lot of growing to do through out the series. Glad he ended up with Angela. Also glad to know this thread exists!

Finished with season 4 last night, this was during the writer's strike I think since it was only 14 episodes.
