So normally when it comes to re-watches I stop after season 7 (or Goodbye Michael) but as I’m watching Threat Level Midnight, I kinda want to see to it til the end now. But I think I want to skip season 8 entirely. I forget but I’m not missing much, right? It felt like such a chore during my first complete series re-watch.
I just finished my re-watch today. I forgot how incredible the series finale was. Season 8 is least favourite season for sure, can't stand Robert California
I got a text out of the blue today solely about how amazing James Spader is in that role so we had very different days. Lol.
Starting a rewatch or Parks & Recreation and it’s super easy to see that Leslie is written like a female Michael Scott in a lot of scenes in season 1. We all know that behind the scenes folk of The Office started P&R so that shouldn’t be a big surprise. Also, tons of shows grow and change from the first season to the second and P&R is no different. Leslie becomes such a great character (everyone does) so it was a smart move to change her character a bit and make her less Michael-like and more like she becomes.
Example Almost a complete scene ripoff: when Leslie regrets opening the gift of wine in “Boy’s Club” and she makes her apology videos. Michael does the same thing and thinks the same way (thinking everyone cares when no one does) when the paper mill has the cartoons fucking in season 3
Not to mention how that series finale was the perfect send-off to this show. Most importantly the humour in this show would not work in today's landscape. Let it stay as is.
i'll preface this by saying i don't want a reboot / remake in any fashion, BUT: 1) anything can get done with money. did anyone think Arrested Development would come back? or fucking Full House? now, those decisions may not have been money based, but if enough money was offered, anything can be done. 2) the biggest thing would be if Steve would be on board for it. he left because (i think) he felt his character was done and he wanted to focus on movies. now, he's done that and succeed beyond i think what any of us thought possible for him, so maybe he wouldn't coming back for a short-lived stint because he's accomplished what he wanted to away from the show?
not going to happen this year (unless there's been a HUGE secret that they all have been keeping), but I wouldn't mind seeing one Christmas special episode to just catch us up on their lives. if they could get everyone in it. a one-off episode would be nice, but definitely not necessary.
I don't necessarily think the humor would need to change too drastically considering shows like Always Sunny are still going. I just don't think they would do it well lol
Yeah I mean I think all of it was from Michael and Packer, and one was portrayed as an imbecile and the other an asshole and never said it was acceptable. I mean they couldn't say the r-word but I feel like Steve just uses that as an out for not doing the show. Which I'm totally fine with being on the no-reboot train lol
