i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

i have no doubt you'll love it.

it's a show with a studio audience but they never get to obnoxious levels like 2 Broke Girls' audience or similar shit.

To be clear, I'm not upset. If anything, I'm jealous. Get on Hulu and lose your mind laughing for nine straight seasons.

while we probably all enjoyed Kevin's "let's take a look at the circus board" line while he was taking a part the elevator control panel, the scene is ruined by the writer's completely illogical reasoning of trying to have us believe that Pam would be dumb enough to believe that Kevin possessed such skills for the prank in the first place!

i don't remember how the last three seasons play out for Angela (besides The Senator and marrying Dwight in the penultimate episode) but through four episodes of season 7 they are certainly making it seem like she maybe likes Andy again.

    - when Andy and Jim are going with Dwight to get back at the mall she very much likes when he is dressed like Andy

    - she wants Dwight to take her to Andy's play, which it seems very unlikely that she would have any interest in Sweeney Todd... i mean, come on, it has "demon" in the title!

She wants Dwight to take her to the play so she can get that booty, that's in the middle of the garbage child-birthing contract storyline

Yeah, that storyline is about the dumbest thing ever, and it didn't actually lead to anything.

"Costume Contest" (S7E6) has Stanley drink Jim's orange juice accidentally and not notice that it was orange juice instead of his coffee, just like they did with Creed in season 3 when he doesn't notice the difference between an apple and an onion :crylaugh:

They also do identical things with Michael and Andy when he's manager, where they want Pam/Erin to make up a fake phone call that they won't take to show how important their current meeting is. Michael's in a meeting with Ryan at the time and Andy's talking to a customer.

"Viewing Party" is such a weird fucking episode. and the ending, with Erin wanting Michael to like Gabe and the awkward silence after he says, "why, i'm not your father" still doesn't make any sense to me. is it because we find out later that she's adopted or is just because she's weird as shit?

the episode is fun, but in such an almost alternate dimension kind of way.

question of the Friday: who, of the main, long-lasting cast (so more than 1-2 seasons) do you find to be the least funny character on the show?

my answer: Oscar. he's purposefully not written funny the majority of the time. he's the sanest, most realistic portrayal of a person (office employee or otherwise) and usually even when he is funny, it's not in a comedic writing way, it's in a very real life, real world office experience way. he's usually smug, arrogant or just makes general, non-humorous comments (season 7 episode "China" shows this pretty well and is what made me feel like posting my random thoughts on Oscar).

I agree with Oscar. I started to notice how "forced" his lines felt after Michael left, no idea why at that point. It almost felt like the writers were trying to fit him in to the script and it never felt natural and his humor lines never made much an impact.

It was a tough choice between Oscar and Ryan. I decided on Oscar because I at least enjoyed Ryan during season 4 when he was the new Regional manager or whatever his title was and enjoyed him for a bit briefly in season 2 as the temp.

As far "worst long running character" that answer would definitely be Ryan.

oh man, in the "China" episode they could have had a great breaking the fourth wall moment.

the gang tells Michael to steer the conversation towards something he knows about. Michael says, "boobs" and that Oscar probably knows nothing about them. the question is asked, "what do you know about them" and Michael is hilarious silent.

would have been great if they had him reference his line from The 40-Year Old Virgin about them feeling like a bag of sand. have him say his cousin told him that (or just have him say it and wink at the camera or something).

wonder if that was discussed at all and / or how much red tape with studios they'd have to get okayed.

but then again they made it work to talk about and show Glee in an episode pretty much centered around it and Glee was huge at the time and on a rival network so who knows how some of these things work.

also, i love the addition of Dwight owning the building. opens up so many story possibilities and bizarre quirks to his character.

I wish the planned spin off would've been about him owning the building and dealing with tenants instead of Schrute Farms.

It's hard to argue with Oscar since he wasn't really meant to be funny a lot of the time but I still found him more amusing than Phyllis.
