Phyllis to Pam after the MSPC buy out and the sales team learning Pam and Ryan are coming on board as sales and with the clients they stole: "close your mouth sweetie, you look like a trout." DAAAAAAAAAAAMN. always great the few times they let Phyllis have a great demolishing remark.
the Bob Vance one was dumb / bad, but i at least have had real life experiences like that where it's a small town / company setting and someone saying a name is supposed to imply and give away all the knowledge, or the person / people expect you to know everything asap even when knowing you're new. the Pam one i don't mind just because it's so rare we see her / Jim in that type of setting / situation. humorously enough, most of the "rag on Jim" type episodes / moments come from (i believe) Mindy Kaling written episodes. for me that was a very unique / fun kickoff of the MSPC storyline as Jim kept fucking up with Charles. and then near the buyout when Charles realizes Dwight's actually the idiot.
I'm such a dummy I originally thought Erin said her name was "Aaron" so that's my main memory of her.
i completely forgot that, so when they first introduce her my mind was blown. i thought, "holy shit. did they bring her on the show for an episode or two with different name and hair and then bring her back as Erin?!" and then she explained and it all made sense.
holy shit. so i'm watching a documentary on the Heaven's Gate cult and they talk briefly about their "elixirs" and drinks and the drink they make / drink is the same drink that Kelly makes in "Weight Loss" (season 5 opener). now i'm pretty sure the drink the cult makes wasn't originally created by them, but i just found that super hilarious because i could see Kelly googling weight loss cleanses and getting the recipe from a cult website.
Michael Scott Paper Company episodes are honestly great, probably the best run of episodes outside of seasons 2-3 imo
Michael: "I'm starting my own paper company." Andy: "really? in this economy?" Michael: "yeah. in all economies."
Reminds me of this exchange: Nellie: "We just had a quick question about this decision of yours. You know, to leave a stable job and pursue a career in the entertainment business. In your late 30s. With no savings to fall back on. And no real connections in that business, which can be competitive." Andy: "Yeah, sure. What's your question? " Kevin: "Our question is ... seems dumb." One of the best kevin lines ever.
Kevin spilling that full pot of chili on the carpet and his poor, panicked clean up job in one of the cold opens is maybe my favorite moment of his.
* entire office fake laughing * Michael: "what's so funny?" Pam: "you had to be there." Michael: "oh, okay. a geography joke."
This is from a deleted scene from "Drug Testing" and the scene itself is funny, but the blooper of it absolutely kills me every time. Dwight: I'm not only hoping to find the culprit who committed this heinous crime, I am praying to find this heinous culprit. And I will pray to Thor himself, if that's what it takes.
oh man, i forgot during "Company Picnic" that Michael and Holly spill the beans about Buffalo closing during their skit. although that blame i put squarely on Wallace. he's known Michael for god knows how many years, he knows what the man is like! why would he tell Michael of all people that a branch is closing if he wanted to keep it secret.
man... Michael is not off to a good start in season 6. S6E1: finds out about Stanley's affair, tells everyone, calls Stanley's wife S6E2: doesn't want Jim to leave / get promoted so sabotages the attempt the actions themselves aren't shocking for Michael's character, but they're badly written / managed. they've never felt to me to contain the underlying heart / charm that Michael's awful actions usually bring.
