This is true. But even with her departure from The Office, Parks and Rec was just as easy on the eyes.
I can't tell if this is a serious post of not, but I don't think there is a girl who is seriously this ditsy and oblivious.
Or said she was pregnant. Goddamn that part is still so hilarious. Oh yea, hipster Ryan is so annoyingly funny it's hard to explain. My wife said to me yesterday when we were watching that Jim is the perfect dude and that he is what every girl wants. I responded that he is a pushover and she got mad, haha.
an episode that isn't very good or memorable but has a lot of great small, quick spots that pretty much captures why the show is as beloved as it is, is "Local Ad". * Michael's "creative" topic about drawing the unicorn at 5 years old, to the hilarious clincher of: "couldn't even talk yet". * Michael's "Ryan's acting like a little again," - "I'm on Michael" (Ryan) - "wassup my brotha!" * Daryl's "what's rap?" and Michael saying he'd make a mix * Stanley - of course - in the prison jump suit collecting trash in Michael's version of the ad * and the best - Andy forgetting the words to close the KitKat jingle and at the ending "nailing it" with Fancy Feast.
I remember that episode, thought it was funny that Michael was talking so much shit to the director. An episode that I really disliked was Scotts Tots, I actually skipped it.
that's a fantastic episode simply for the cringe worthiness of what Michael pledged, but it is hard to watch even knowing it's just a show. don't remember any side stories of that episode, but i'll never forget Stanley's laugh in the break room when Erin asks what that is haha.
but it's great because he means well (as he does about 50/50 if not more of the time). making it even better is he wants to have someone else go and always seems to remember it's approaching but just seems to think something will save him / the situation in typical Michael Scott fashion. also, since we know of his money problems all the way from season 3, it makes it even more hilarious that he would think he could do such things, but since he also never attended (at least not) business school he probably has no idea what college costs. it's so, so great and so, so hard to watch.
I see your point when it comes to the ignorance/naivety of Michael being somewhat fun to watch, but it's when Michael gets "mean", for lack of a better word. Like I mentioned before, he's quick to throw someone under the bus, or praise them, regardless of his relationship with the person, as long as it will benefit him. The primary example of this is when Jim and David Wallace were talking about a promotion and Michael assumed the worst instead of just asking what was up. I know that's how a real world boss would act, but in this show, maybe not so much.
oh man, "The Deposition" episode. (Michael after seeing Toby at corporate) Michael: "What are you doing here? Here to renew your divorce vows before my deposition?" Toby: "Michael, I'm your HR rep, I'm on your side." Michael: "Never." Toby asking for 11 copies of Michael's diary to be made instead of 10 so he can have one too
Reaching the end of season 6 and I can really start to notice the decline. I'm at the point where Andy and Erin officially announced they're dating. Also, is there any worse green screen/matte back drop in any other TV show other than in the "New Leads" episode, where they're at the dump? Holy hell does that look bad.
Erin becoming a main character pretty much is the start of the true decline. Not saying she's the reason, she's awesome, but it just coincides.
I really like Erin and Gabe, though Erin is a bit harder to handle at times. Gabe is so cringe worthy but in an awkward way, not in a dumb way like Michael can be at times. I'm not sure when it happened, but Dwight became "cool", and that's when I found it to start becoming bad, or at least not as good as before.
I'm halfway through season five, still very good. Yesterday was the Hilary Swank episode, which is one of the few I watched on tv I'm always curious with long running shows like this where there's a consensus that it gets bad over time, just to see where it goes wrong
Did you pick up on the coolness factor of Dwight as the seasons progress? I think it happened at the start of season 6.
