Yeah, I have no complaints about his role.

 

Well we do know that it wasn’t “modern” (or at least not colloquial) at the time, both when it was told as well and written. The Greek used for stuff like this was not the Greek that was normally used by people. I don’t think that matters for a movie though.

 

I think a big part of their outrage is that they at least partially identified Nolan as one of theirs due to the right-wing politics of the Batman movies. Oppenheimer should have been a correction but expecting them to sit through a 3 hour drama is unrealistic.

 

I really enjoyed this although my brain was starting to shut down after a combined 5 hours in the theatre lol, don't know if I fully understood the "songs are what will be left" line and some of the other themes towards the end?

thought Anne Hathaway absolutely acted everyone else off the screen and was just incredible, the reveal of who Zendaya was playing hit really hard, and the cyclops/Circe scenes just whetted my appetite for a Nolan horror movie even more. biggest thing that bugged me was Bernthal's character just felt like a big waste of time and he was playing the role exactly how he plays everything else. Safdie bro as Agamemnon was also pretty bad once he had to talk

 

Agamemnon had like 5 lines lol

 

I actually don't remember him speaking at all, haha

 

Low key forgot the safdie bro was in this til they showed his face for a split second when he got stabbed lmao

 

they should have CGI'd his voice, it was a bit weak

They're basically saying time will forgive their sins and all will be left is the story.

 

I think it’s fitting actually that a guy with a silly little voice but who is huge is in all that get up like yeah if he was just talking and had Benny safdie’s face no one would really be scared

I think the whole point of Agamemnon is they made him out to be this huge, powerful god with his status and sick armor but once you strip that away he's just a normal mortal man

I think the Hades sequence, along with the Circe scenes are my favorite of the film. On the second viewing I thought the ending felt a little rushed, like him building the raft and suddenly being home and 2 minutes later hes in pylos with tele, just felt like 'we need to speed this along' and i wonder how much of that may have been him knowing he needed to keep this under 3 hours because of the projector capacity.

 

I read he shot around 100 hours worth of footage (~2m feet worth of film).
