Yeah I guess the only way to go bigger is to either build a new studio (like Spielberg with Dreamworks) or get final cut/full control over a Bond movie (sounds like Amazon won't do that) Regardless if he goes bigger or smaller, it will be another blank check
idk how common knowledge this is but the 70mm imax screenings will not have trailers, they're starting right at the designated showtime. i've seen this a few places now.
Have 70mm imax tickets for 8/9 cause I couldn’t make Decent seats/my schedule work any earlier but not sure I can wait that long to see this in general. Might have to see a LIEmax showing first this weekend
yeah i wanted my first experience of this to be the 70mm showing but no way i could go not seeing it opening weekend lol
This wasn't necessarily my favorite Nolan work, but it's very good. I thought the last hour was outstanding, and the scale of the whole thing was really impressive. Thematically, I thought the parallels between this and Oppenheimer were pretty interesting.
This rules loved the scene reframing the Trojan Horse as not so heroic as it was a vile betrayal. Pattinson’s goon getting the arrow in the next was maybe the loudest thing I’ve heard in a theater? Blew my ears out
This ruled. Best sequence might be the one with Morvern Callar being all witchy. But also, everything with Odysseus getting back in the third act was so good and satisfying. Shoutout to the cyclops, too, and really all the mythic shit. Don’t wanna lean into recency bias, lol, but I’d maybe put this top 2 Nolan, just under Oppenheimer? I’m just so happy with where he’s at these days.
I just figured out that there's a 70mm IMAX near me in Providence, RI and tried to snag two tickets somewhere in the next two weeks and it's pretty solidly sold out. there are a few open seats like way up front on some of the less-ideal times. I'm hoping we can get tickets in a little while but also before this goes out of the IMAX theater.
