I feel like if you don't already know it's a huge spoiler but I'll put it here Dark Tower book like 5 or 6 or something idk
I misunderstood your post...I thought you were implying that The OA was based off a book (when you said ‘don’t want to spoil the book’) and that it reminded you of Stephen King’s book. My bad.
Yeah I was a big fan of this season. Might even want to rewatch it at some point to catch more details. Seems like the type of show that rewards close analysis.
Just finished two and I liked it more than one for the most part but I didn’t like that it felt much more cliffhangery at the end. One felt more like an open to your own interpretation kind of ending, while this left me with a loooooottttt of questions.
Ooooooooops. I was shocked after finishing S2 that it was such a cliffhanger. I read afterwards that they had five seasons in mind, but it was just so niche and strange that it seemed like a huge risk to leave it like that. The fact that 13 Reasons Why is being stretched to four seasons while this didn’t even get to finish its story really leaves a bad taste.
The cancellation comes as Netflix has increasingly lowered the ax on scripted originals as the streamer continues to evaluate where to best allocate its financial resources. The choice, sources stress, is mulling if another season can bring in the level of new subscribers or if other new programming would have a greater value to drawing new customers to the subscription streaming platform. To that end, Netflix has recently canceled animated comedy Tuca & Bertie, ABC import Designated Survivor, She's Gotta Have It and Chambers. I liked it better when they wanted to make cool shit and let really creative people make cool shit.
I literally watched the first episode right before the cancellation. Now I’m not so sure I should even bother continuing.
There was quite a big gap between season 1 and 2, lots of people probably forgot about the show and didn't end up watching the second season.
