Both of them are wonderful with a lot in common: faithful period recreations from scenery to dialogue, exceptional scores, and incredible acting. But The Lighthouse's penchant for exceptionally timed absurdist humor that cuts through the bleakness of it all...next level.
I think The Witch is more enjoyable to watch but The Lighthouse is also amazing and every bit as well made.
I think the Witch is a five-star film and The Lighthouse is like *just* behind it. But I also think The Lighthouse is the more unique and enjoyable watch
The Witch is good but The Lighthouse has way more going on visually and thematically and has two legit all timer lead performances, especially Dafoe
