A little disappointed how empty some of these songs sound recorded when the live versions are insane.
I’m stoked the record is almost out. Seems like I was complaining about it being far away just yesterday
Woah. This album has me feeling things. First impressions after a first listen posted in the supporters forum.
What?! Haha. Freaking love it from the live version. Has some throwback cheese-factor to it for sure but I dig. Hope the studio version jams as hard as it does live. It's the last track on the album (in the tracklist posted on Instagram).
It's easily the worst song on the album. It's not even close. Doesn't fit with the rest at all. The album fades/slows way for almost two minutes before it comes on. Feels tacked on. "Coffee and Cigarettes" is very much the natural, and perfect, closer.
Interesting. Perhaps it's kind of what "Into The Airwaves" is to Everything in Transit. Still a "part" of the record, but more like an epilogue. So jealous of you right now. "Die A Little" is another one I've been holding out for based on the live vids. If BITV is easily the worst track then I have extremely high hopes for this!
Posting my "review" tomorrow. Needs to be edited a little more first. I think people are gonna dig this album. I'm already curious what @Craig Manning thinks of it as well.
I've liked what I've heard so far. Definitely excited to hear the whole thing. Feel like Martin Johnson has been away for way too long.
The Night Game - The Night Game • chorus.fm I "reviewed" the album. I put that in quotes because my "reviews" these days tend to be more like the proverbial "think piece" -- I like writing about music that hits me, and why. About what it makes me feel and how music can do that in way not much else can. Less about the track by track that anyone can write and most publications can drop almost too easily. So, that's what I did because that's what I felt like writing. Heh. Hope you will read and enjoy. I like the album. It's the perfect end of summer into fall record.
