Midway through the Pottery tape and I'm not super into it. Heads influence is clear, but it's not the aspect of them that I am drawn to. Maybe the second half will pick up

 

I liked the Texas drums track a lot but That was mostly for the increasing amount of drum talk in the lyrics. Wiry post punk feels like a dime a dozen these days tho and it certainly has kept me away from the new records in that vein

yeah that’s their afrobeat phase. “The Great Curve” is basically a Fela Kuti song, and they even have a demo from the deluxe reissue called “Fela’s Riff”
