I think I'll Still Destroy You might be my favorite but it's changed several times lol.

I don't agree, but and argument could be made easily.

It's so easy to set off
    The molecules and the caplets
They all have something against me
Nothing I do makes me feel different

“Put your heels against the wall / i swear you’ve got a little bit taller since i saw you / I’ll still destroy you” is the National’s whole lyrical project wrapped up in a bow.

Every song on this album is the best song on this album aside from Sleep Well Beast which is just a tiny step down.

"Sleep Well Beast" is actually the best song tho... or at least it's the most interesting to me, besides "Turtleneck" maybe.

The title track rules, i don’t understand the lukewarm response to it.

It's the only song on the album I just can't get into. The other 11 are amazing.

  12. my favorite on the record tbh

I kinda want to see them explore more in the direction that that song goes. This album is great, don't get me wrong, but I think they repeated themselves a bit, except for that track.

Title track is definitely my favorite on this album. That last verse with those low vocals, culminating with “You were always my last second bright spot in the distance / Thought that you were something good / That I would always keep” . . .

    Sublime.

I wish I loved the title track as much as most of you all seem to here. It honestly does nothing for me at all.

What album would you all pay to see them play in full live? other than Boxer.

If The National were playing a show and the majority of the songs were from Alligator I certainly wouldn't spend money on it..

Geese and November are great songs but I definitely listen to Alligator the least. It's just never really sucked me in like their other records.

Alligator rules. It was my favorite for a long while, but not anymore. Still got wild love for tracks like Secret Meeting, Mr. November, Abel, Lit Up. Not a bad song on there really.

Really excited to see what they're gonna do next weekend. There's a new stage that's supposed to be circular like the one they played on in Hudson, NY.

    Very, very excited.

Alligator was my first true love from this band. It’s moody nature drew me in pretty much immediately.

I would for sure pay to see them play any album from Alligator up. Seen Boxer already though but would see them play it again.
