Depression Cherry is by far my favorite Beach House album

 

Teen Dream is one of the best indie rock albums. I like DC, but they're not even close for me. Bloom number 2.

 

The singles are probably my favourites but this is great. Not my favourite, I don't think but amazing anyway. Need to let it settle and listen some more.

 

Depression Cherry is the only Beach House album less than excellent. It's good but Thank Your Lucky Stars was a huge upgrade. Though I will give the outro of PPP a nod as like a top 3 moment in their catalog.

beach house is really great and i band i forget is so consistent until i listen to them. a band that definitely has a pretty consistent sound throughout records but the songs are so good the little subtleties set them apart. definitely one of the most consistent bands of the last ten years

bloom is easily my favorite but the rest all are great

depression cherry is my least favorite but its still really really good. teen dream and bloom are fucking masterpieces.

This is easily the most I've been impressed by a National album on first listen. The attention to detail here suits the band extremely well.

 

listen. "Turtleneck" is badass.

their disco is so impressive so I have no clue where this will stand. Alligator and Boxer are my favorite The National records....Im not sure this will surpass those, but so far so so good.

 

and i think someone said this but "Empire Line" reminds me of Vampire Weekend "Giving Up the Gun"

 

Seriously, maybe I need to give their other albums more listens but this immediately strikes me as more engaging with a lot more interesting things going on.

 

Listened once to confirm greatness, deleted right after.

Literally just listened to Giving Up The Gun again yesterday for the first time in a long time. Such a great song.
"I see you shine in your way, go on, go on, go on."

 

God I love the title track
