Yeah, I'm excited about that review's excitement over the album, but Boxer-High Violet-TWFM are all great lyrics albums, and definitely not background music. Fuck that.

 

Yep. I actually kinda yelled "NOPE" at my screen when I saw that (and also disagreed with the background music comments). Still liked the review though.

 

Also I'm weak and caved to listening to "Day I Die" and it's incredible

 

a considerable obstacle in my enjoyment of this record is how much i dislike "turtleneck". maybe i'll be alone in that

Just realized that I'm under a week away from having a new album from these guys. Sweet. I'm not active in my music consumption these days, which makes new releases from my favorite bands kinda even more of an event for me in a weird way. Based on the couple songs I've listened to so far, I fully expect to love this thing.

Every released track so far has just blown me away, even for a band that has consistently put out some of my favorite music for over a decade now. I'm dying to hear what the rest of the record has in store.

 

4AD has this on lock down. I doubt we see it leak before Wednesday.
