I’ve been returning to IAETF and TWFM more of late. The themes of the albums mesh with where my head is right now.
Echoing the sentiment that High Violet has a ton of really great the national songs but I almost never listen to it beginning to end for some reason

Got my Cherry Tree Vol. 3 today. Such a good performance. Listening to it high tonight, slaps. Defending Turtleneck to other National fans has cost me everything.
Listening again for the first time in maybe a year and this is my favorite record of theirs easily and I love all their other records.
It's definitely one that I somewhat connected to when it was released but REALLY connect to right now.
High Violet is prob my least fave of their post Alligator albums but it’s their most immediate, punchy, high-contrast album and a good one to “hook” people who might not have the time/motivation to let all their other records sink into their ears and work their magic. My alternate advice is to start with Alligator and work your way up chronologically from there. Catch up with their first two albums last.
