Five months today: Berlin Columbiahalle Night 2.

 

Yea came in the crowd. Stayed down there for a huge chunk of the song. It was wild.

Currently seeing them live in a food hall for free in the middle of the afternoon with 500 other people. Pretty wild.

 

I was there too in the cherry tree section! That was Awesome

why last?

 

Sitting on my back deck listening to this album with a glass of whiskey while fireworks go off all around me is literally the most perfect thing I've ever experienced - although..literally as I typed that the next door neighbors just lit something off that scared me so fucking much that I'm literally shaking right now, oh god, fireworks are the worst, I rescind everything I just said

 

This album is so lovely

 

i wish i liked this more. the additional voices are fantastic, i just wish the band chose to do it on songs that were less sleepy. this feels like the first inessential album they’ve had since the debut, which is a huge bummer

 

I hope they only get sleepier

 

i love this album so much.

 

Honestly i think it has the highest number of songs that are in their top 20 songs out of all their albums, but it also has like 6 that i’d take off of here i think and for that reason alone i don’t think it cracks my top 3 records.

This was my 10th show; I'm rail, middle... right in front of Matt. He jumped over me during Mr. November. You can't see-see me, but he leans over first and we shared the mic.

Almost full circle. Shared wine with him at the Roy Wilkins show a few years back. Also had front row at EAUX CLAIRES 2015.

Can't wait for show 11 in Portland next month.

 

Still probably my favorite National album. At worst, it’s tied with Trouble Will Find Me.

 

I pretty much still play it in full... daily. I love it more than TWFM/HV (which both may have higher highs, but I most of the slow songs on Trouble are a bit boring for me - can't stand England anymore after two tours post-HV) this soon already. Honestly wish some of those B-Sides/random tracks were on High Violet/TWFM ala Exile/Vilify, You Were A Kindness, and Think You Can Wait, Sin-Eaters.
