Hairpin Turns is far better than I ever appreciated when it was a pre-release. I think it’s in competition for the best song on here.
i can do favs by album Lucky You City Middle Gospel England Graceless Sleep Well Beast I Am Easy to Find
Also I’m not familiar with Eve Owens at all. Does she sound as incredible on everything else as she does on Where Is Her Head?
Idk but it provided closure on a confusing Instagram post from last year of Aaron and Clive Owen in their studio so I’m thankful
I am so in love with this album. May end up being my favorite of theirs. Every time I hear Not in Kansas I think of this song.
I've gotten to the point with this album where I feel like every song on it could bring me to tears lol
Listened to this again today, and all the nuances/textures are starting to take hold. Love all the guest vocals, and what they add to the album. Also Spotify put on I’ll Still Destroy You after, and though I don’t go back to SWB that often it still is a great album. That song is great especially
The interludes make up approximately 2.5 minutes on a 64 minute record. Does anyone really care? I see an alternate universe where Underwater doesn’t exist and people complain that Rylan into Light Years is too jarring.
Even after watching the film I'd still axe Dust Swirls first, which really functions like an interlude but is just longer
I think honestly Dust Swirls works as an album intro but might be too jarring. I prefer YHYSWY blowing the fucking doors off as an opener, because it really just GOES IN. Do you want someone to remind you tomorrow? ;)
"Rylan" into "Light Years" is actually really great. I think I like it more than having "Underwater" in there.
